ASDA - Dalgety Bay

December 2017 – Checkout Operator

I completed a seasonal position as a checkout operator at ASDA to support with the Christmas busy period. I enjoyed the challenges and the opportunity to meet and work with new people. Duties included providing a warm greeting to customers, learning till operation sequences and good housekeeping of till station.

October 2018 – Present. Grocery Nights

I currently work two nights a week stacking stock on grocery shelves often to tight time frames. It is expected stock is rotated thoroughly, efficiently and customer service is always delivered at a high standard.

Claddach Farm – Peat Inn

April 2018 – August 2018

Following a successful work experience week on this farm, the owners approached and asked me to continue part-time until the end of my NC course and throughout the summer. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this opportunity and gained a vast amount of experience on the daily cleaning, feeding and handling of many species including Sheep, Boer Goats, Shetland Cows, Alpacas and Guanacos.

Much of our time was spent collecting, moving and transporting their many breeds of pedigree sheep for a wide range of purposes including rotational grazing, administering medications for fluking/fly strike, tagging and collection of all for shearing. I was also sought out to help drive sheep with a neighbouring farm owning a huge stock hold of sheep on their shearing day.

I enjoyed attending many of the promotional events Claddach toured to with their pet lambs and a select few of their alpacas often conversing with the public, caring for the animals and providing information to members of the public.

BSkyB Dunfermline

I began working at BSkyB as a school leaver and over 13 years, I prove myself to be a valuable asset to the company. I took on a variety of different roles, each a promotion on the last listed below. I continued to work there until returning to study towards my dream career.

July 2004 – November 2012: General Assistant

Key responsibilities: customer care, food handling, barista training, stock rotation and ordering, working both on my own and as part of a team, good housekeeping and completed a range of health & safety training.

November 2013 – 2017: Store Person

Key responsibilities: Placing and receiving large orders of fresh & frozen goods, disposables, coffee, confectionary and medicines both electronically and over the phone on a daily basis. I became a key-holder, performed an accurate stock-take once a week, kept all stores satisfactory and aided kitchen duties.

July 2014 – October 2017: Administration

Key responsibilities: receipting invoices, discuss any issues on site or with deliveries with suppliers, cash handling and accounting, collating and signing off banking for collection, logging sales and stock for our site, using Word, PowerPoint and Excel for composing menu cycle signage, invoice tracking and accurate storage of all bookwork week-to-week.

Volunteer at Fife Hedgehog Hospital/Fife Dog Rescue

I enjoyed volunteering at both Forth Hedgehog Hospital and Fife Rog Rescue in my spare time spanning over the course of 2017-2018. Duties included rehabilitation of sick and injured hedgehogs by means of cleaning out hold cages, daily health checking and feeding programmes. Fife Dog Rescue involved walking, socialising and cleaning out many of the dogs and puppies the centre rehomed. As much as I thoroughly enjoyed my time at both of these charities, I stepped back from volunteering when my HNC course began so I could dedicate and ensure high pass marks throughout.
