Analyzing, deblurring and denoising image and video: Jan’16-May16

Created a video for 30 seconds, by coding in c++ to generate pixel-by-pixel utilizing equations of motion and followed by Mpeg and H264 encoding.

Analyzed the various compressed size and quality compromised. Identifying and correcting defects in jpeg, bmp images containing waveforms like sine, cosine.

Categorized variant blur in to different invariant blur in a 3s video and designing different Weiner invariant filter with Gaussian shaped blur by observation.

Removed blur by passing segmented image through designed filters, coding in python.

Removed Noisy Component of signal in its wavelet domain. The noisy component was determined by steins unbiased risk estimate designed thresholding function.

Converted 2D to 3D image by estimating depth field for a two dimensional images by two techniques: global estimation and local estimation technique. The performance of two techniques were computed and compared.

Simulation in Relay assisted FSO/RF communication. Aug’16- Dec’16

Two novel multi-hop relay-assisted hybrid Free Space Optical / Radio Frequency (FSO / RF) communication systems are compared. RF and FSO links, at each hop, are parallel and send data simultaneously, Detect and Forward protocol is used.

In the first structure, at each hop, among received FSO and RF signals, the one with higher (SNR) is detected and forwarded. But in the second structure, at each hop, received FSO and RF signals are separately detected and forwarded.

Considering FSO link in Negative Exponential atmospheric turbulence and RF link in Rayleigh fading, for the first time, closed-form expressions are derived for Outage Probability and Bit Error Rate of the proposed structures.

Results indicate that the structure with selection at each hop has better performance than the structure with selection at the destination.
