Designation: Pre Analytical Pathology Lab Supervisor From Sep’07 to Till Date Clinical Biochemistry.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Prepare Rota.
Maintain good work flow.
Improve turnaround time.
Set targets.
Ensure all training file update.
Standard operating procedure (SOP), ensure SOPs are signed and updated.
Assiting in updating SOPs for CPA inspections.

Organise departmental meetings.

Designation: Lab Assistant in UCLH Blood Transfusion From Feb’03 to Feb’07
Haematology.
Roles & Responsibilities:
To receive blood components, check them against supplied paper work and deliver them to correct fridge location as specified by the laboratory.
To deliver platelets to the wards as specified by the laboratory.
To keep records of receipt and deliver of blood components. This includes ensuring maintaining accurate Theatre fridge records.
To monitor the signing of blood in and out of the T-2 blood fridge.
To perform daily checks of all 4 blood fridges at UCH including recording the temperature and checking the alarms.
To perform other maintenance of UCH fridges including cleaning and changing recording charts and pens.
To identify blood and components which are due for return to the laboratory, to package them correctly to maintain the correct temperature and to organize a courier to deliver them promptly to the laboratory.
To track any missing units at UCH as requested by the laboratory.
To collect pink slips for proof of transfusion and update the computer records.
To be available by phone or beep to respond to urgent situations at all times.
