“ Central planner in OCEAN NETWORK EXPRESS”

Firstly, I have learned types of containers and its dimensions, container safety convention.

Concept on gross weight, tear load and payload, weight carrying capacity of containers.

Concept on stability (law of floatation, dead weight of ship, reserve buoyancy, free board, fresh water allowance, tonnage per cm, types of moments in ship, slot loss calculation.

Concept on ship structure, study of general arrangement plan, capacity plan, draft,document of compliance for dangerous goods, bay numbering.

Concept on IMDG and its Imo class.

USE OF PLANNING SOFTWARE (POWER STOW)

1.Firstly, I keep the tank condition as given by master.

2.Then weather check the containers meets basic slot allocation given.

3.We keep the heavy containers underdeck and light containers on deck.

4. I plan dangerous goods on fore side and refers on aft side in order to avoid discrepancy, avoid mixing of containers of different port of discharge, maintain the stress, torsion and GM of the vessel and taking in mind the displacement of the vessel must be in given limit.

5.Check stowage.

6.I try to plan awkward good under-deck on top tier of the vessel.

7. Taking the acceptance of the master and terminal.
