Guardian Industries – Kingsburg Glass Manufacturing 2019-2020 Guardian Industries is a float glass manufacturer that produces glass products for commercial, residential and automotive industries. Responsibilities as a manufacturing engineer included manufacturing support to our raw production line, design of tools & procedures for the line, work instruction development for production areas, EHS responsibilities, and team support for project engineers. Key Achievements:
ü Operational excellence using market based management and Lean manufacturing practices ü Provided Engineering support for our float glass and tempering production lines ü Created and maintained city safety requirements for 2 production lines ü Overhauled outdated work instructions to include job hazard analyses ü Created a Kilo Watt savings program for our Tempering Line, saving the company $200,000 a year in energy costs.
ü Implemented Ergonomic system to avoid back injuries for our operators. Design & Manufacturing Engineer – Esterline Connection Technologies 2017-2019 Esterline Connection Technologies is a world leader in the harsh environment interconnect solutions that provide products to aerospace, defense, space, energy and transportation markets. With the collaboration of Souriau and Sunbank, Esterline Connection Technologies is a global designer, manufacturer and supplier of high-performance and high-reliability interconnect products. Responsibilities as a manufacturing engineer include manufacturing support to injection molding/tooling/design, standard work/takt time standardization, tool/product classifications, facility layouts, safety focal and new product development representative. Key Achievements:
ü Operational excellence using Kaizen, Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing practices ü Provide engineering support to injection molding, tooling, design and cable assemblies ü Facility improvements leader for injection, tooling and design engineering ü Developed standard work for injection machines, cnc machines, and daily operations ü Plastics Knowledge with injection molding practices ü Justification Classification on ITAR and EAR99 products ü Advanced tool creations to improve cycle times and labor hours Design Engineer – Level I - The Boeing Company 2012 - 2017 Boeing Defense provides the United States with the Ground-based Midcourse Defense system which detects, intercepts, and destroys long range ballistic missiles during their mid-course flight. Responsibilities as a Design Engineer includes vehicle/facility integration, network schematics, interconnect diagrams, 3D modeling, facility layouts, drawing release processes, and production innovations. I currently have a secret security clearance and hold the responsibility as lead AutoCAD designer for vehicle integration and test equipment.
Key Achievements:
ü Provided the top assembly design to a $45 million dollar missile integration facility. ü Designed, integrated, and built our test facilities network & communications rack. ü Responsible for designing and upgrading outdated telemetry hardware. ü Created the Shroud Handling Assembly innovation for our lab technicians. ü Innovated the programs first roadmap for new hires/transferred employees. ü Developed the foundational support for a high frequency test bed. ü Ability to create Manufacturing Processes and Work Instructions Gate Operations Lead – Orange County Fair Grounds 2010 - 2011 Orange County Fair & Events Center, I provided lead operations during the 2010 & 2011 fair seasons for bag checkers at the 5 entrance gates. Responsibilities as a lead included scheduling employee breaks/lunches, providing customer service to fair patrons, managing 15-20 employees each night, keeping the lines flowing, and providing support to fellow gate operation supervisor if needed. Key Achievements
ü Managed 15-20 employees each year during fair operations & events. ü Ran 5 gates each night during county fair operations with no major incidents. ü Introduced Lean processes to a customer service. Using the flow method we were able to reduce wait time minutes by allowing people with no bags to flow right through, people with bags to be in 1-2 lines, and/or patrons with strollers into 1-2 other lines. Design Engineer & CNC Programmer 2008-2010
Packaging Plus LLC, producer of extruded plastics, plastic packaging, and industrial shipping. Responsibilities included programming CNC machines using the Gibbs CAM program, prototyping using a Dimension 3D printer, and created the solid models using Solidworks. Additionally, I was assigned to be the CAD designer responsible for updating the company plant layouts, and all CAD based blueprints. Key Achievements
ü Introduced lean operations into the 750,000sqft warehouse layout. ü Experience production skills in a machine shop environment. ü Trained on how to use and operate a 3D printer.
