Business Development Manager LB Steel, LLC 2011-2013

Responsible for the identification and development of key accounts to facilitate the shift in business direction from job shop manufacturing to continuous flow manufacturing.

Developed a strategic, third party engineering alliance to facilitate the development of over 4000 engineering models and manufacturing drawings in a three-month window.

Stepped in to reorganize the quality function. Drove quality performance with the largest customer from 110,000 DPPM to 0 in nine months.

Negotiated life of the product, multi-year contract for family of large wheel loader welded and machined structures with annual revenues of five to eight million dollars per year. This project

impressed the customer enough to award a second, even more complex project with an additional three and a half million dollars of annual revenue.

Vice President, Business Development Steel Craft Corp 2008-2011

Responsible for all Sales, Engineering and Quality activities. Lead new business development with key accounts to develop aggressive business value added proposition.

Developed original approach to quality program resulting in a 10X improvement in customer quality performance in six months.

Developed comprehensive process for new product introduction utilizing APQP techniques as a baseline for planned, measurable and ensuring cost control.

Director, Engineering and Quality Super Steel Corp 2006-2008

Responsible for all design, development and quality activities in all facilities. Represented the business as business management representative for ISO compliance. Accomplishments were:

Developed CAD tools to eliminate manual layout of weld locations resulting in a savings of over 100 hours of direct labor per week.

Expanded engineering capabilities by developing third party technological alliance to augment engineering skill levels.

Reorganized quality group to focus on planned quality activities rather than an inspection based

quality approach.

Expanded welder training program to provide a tiered approach to training and developing welding personnel.

Experiences in leadership roles beyond the last 10 years include –

Factory / Operations Manager, Director of Engineering, Director of Quality & Advanced Engineering, and Project Management. Experienced working with union and nonunion shops. Began working career on shop floor in welding, weld inspection, weld engineering, tool and die design and manufacturing, painting and assembly. Served as trainer / educator during 10-year employment with General Electric at GE’s Crotonville Training Institute in areas of engineering, quality engineering, statistical analysis and modeling.
