Academic Projects:

PROJECT 1:

Title: Theoretical analysis of Floats and Parachutes for an Aircraft. Description: During recent years, lot of flight crashes have taken place. In order to consider the safety of passengers, Theoretical calculation on floats and parachutes are done. For emergency, once the passenger seat is ejected, parachute attached with the seat opens at the particular height and time which helps in safe landing. In order to avoid the jerks while reaching the ground, floats are attached to the seat so that the passenger can reach the ground safely.

PROJECT 2:

Title: Performance of cross flow heat pipe using Graphene nanofluid for electronic cooling applications.

Description: The new electronic devices put forward the challenge of efficient cooling when the heat loads are rapidly increasing. The life span of electrical devices decreases as their operating temperature increases. In order to provide the solution for this problem, a Cross flow heat pipe which can work at any inclination and orientation for effective cooling in electronic devices had been design and fabricated. Novelty of the design is it have one evaporator and four condensers with ten fins at each loop, which make the heat transfer more efficient. Different nanofluids are used to improve the heat transfer. Compared to other nanofluids, Graphene nanofluid has high thermal conductivity. So based on the properties graphene nanofluid was selected with the optimum filling ratio of 60% for different concentration

(0.01%,0.03%,0.05%) as studied. The experiment was conducted with the heat load ranging from 20W to 160W. Cross flow heat pipe with heat load of 20Wto 160W are used in different fields for various applications especially in the field of aerospace. The efficiency obtained is 93.5% for 0.05%.

PROJECT 3:

Title: Heat pipe turbine for power generation Applications. Description: A new concept for power generation from solar, geothermal or other available low grade heat sources using heat pipe turbine. The basis of the heat pipe turbine is the modified thermosyphon cycle with the excellent heat and mass transfer characteristics which incorporates a turbine in adiabatic region. The heat pipe turbine which has closed vertical cylinder with the evaporator an insulated adiabatic region and a condenser. Conservation of enthalpy difference to kinetic energy is achieved through the nozzle. The mechanical energy developed by the turbine can be converted in to electrical energy by direct coupling the electric generator.
