Immediate responses to department e-mail requests from media and Los Angeles citizens, maintain clippings of all media activities, processing office correspondence and separate confidential department correspondence (i.e. celebrity info, personal photos or documents) Prepare reports, type audits for commanding officers review, handle two executive appointment and master calendars (Lieutenant and Media Director), assemble any required media information and statistics for Chief of Police and law enforcement command staff for review.

Media Relations PR with the Los Angeles Police Department provided institutional knowledge which created the ability to provide opinions, sound judgments, ideas and facts to tactfully and effectively deliver to all media disseminating information to local news media representatives, movie industry screenwriters for movies, TV shows, books and governmental officials. Contacts of this nature cultivated relationships with media public information personnel and all other media representatives across the country.

Must work independently, handle pressure, meet deadlines with little supervision, articulate in media delivery, great research skills, detailed oriented and very organized because of high profile and VIP involvement.

Making sure all VIP’s and celebrities after winning awards are escorted to proper places for their interviews with print, radio and TV. Controlled and reviewed registration and validity of all media credential requests for event

Publicity Assistant – Los Angeles Times

Volunteered and assisted publicist with yearly Warner Brothers/Tribune USC event. Assisted in making sure all cartoon characters were in proper place and introduced them when necessary for event. Warner Brothers characters had to be dressed with extremely heavy costumes quickly to public event for children.

Event Planner LAPD – Retirement Parties

Coordinate with staff and other vendors were venue will be; control monetary decisions; plan entertainment for event; arrange and order food items and plan menu; decorate chosen facility with flowers or balloons and work the floor to make sure guests are comfortable and needs met and handle any problems that may occur.
