January 2010- October 2010: Worked at Keshnillos riding stables where I taught beginner riding lessons during weekends. This included teaching children the basics of horse handling and care and how to work with horses on the ground as well as ridden work.

October 2010-December 2010: Completed my Matric or Grade 12 year of high school.

January 2011 – June 2011: 1st Semester of 1st year Equine Science Diploma course. July 2011- December 2011: 2nd Semester of 1st Year Equine Science Course. January 2012 – June 2012 : 1st Semester of 2nd year Equine science Course. July 2012-December 2012: 2nd Semester of 2nd year Equine Science course.

December 2012-January 2013 worked at Middle Point Appaloosa stud. Duties included daily care, handling, feeding of the horses, the lambs, sheep and chickens on the farm. I was mainly focused on completing my assignments for my course so I was very involved with catching the foals at birth, neonatal care and general wellbeing. Stock control was another one of my duties and this took place on a weekly basis.

December 2011, June 2012, December 2012, February 2013- August 2013: Worked at Moolmanshoek Endurance Stables. Duties included feeding of the horses, grooming them exercising the horses such as lunging, ground work and riding. Competing at endurance rides and events during the year. Preparing the young horses for rides and events

August 2013-September 2013: Andalusia at Stud: Duties included feeding, grooming and taking care of the horses. Doing foal night watch and catching the foals (assisting the mare during foaling if needed) making sure that the foals are taken care of and healthy within the first few hours to first few weeks of life. Helping to keep the race horses fit by walking them in hand and riding once a day. General horse care on a daily basis.

September 2013- November 2014: Drakenstein Veterinary clinic: Worked as an equine nurse, assisted in surgeries, post operative care, patient care, treatments, bandaging, and general well being of the equines in the hospital. Although being a equine nurse I still assisted with small animals making sure they had their medication and that they were comfortable at all times.

In July 2014: I successfully graduated with my Diploma in Equine Science from Tshwane University of Technology.

December 2014: Moved back to Pretoria and started searching for my next work placement.

January 2015- October 2015 :Zwartkop Pet Deli: Working as a veterinary sales consultant. Mainly learning about dog, cat, small animal, fish and bird foods and products. As well as completing courses on all the veterinary approved animal foods and products to be able to accurately promote and selling them.

October 2015-March 2016 : Area manager of the Zwartkop Pet Deli, my duties include banking, checking and correcting stock orders, overseeing ordering and stock control, invoices checks, basic shop management, drawing up timesheets and rosters for various shop and completing week end and month end procedures.

April 2016-End of July 2016: I was working as an Au Pair for the Nkonyeni family. Responsibilities included taking the children to and from school, taking them to play dates, the movies and to their extramural activities. I also assisted in helping them with their homework and school assignments. The kids were twin girls and were 6 years old and in grade R and they had a son aged 10 in grade 5.

August 2016 to February 2017: Sales Consultant at Midfeeds, this involves taking down delivery as well as collection orders for clients, checking in stock. Ordering stock as well as reading it into the system. Assisting clients on the floor as well as with their special orders and the follow up thereof.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Team Leader: manage and control the primary store, assist in training casuals and sales assistants.

o Selling veterinary recommended nutritional options as well as over the counter supplements and pharmaceuticals with confidence and knowledgeable guidance to pet owners.

o Managing cash, card and voucher tender types as well as float management on a daily basis

o Resolve product and pet related customer questions.

o Customer Requests – managing requests and enquiries with good customer communication and liaison with the area manager and management when necessary.

• Buying and Stock Control

o Daily top up ordering with primary suppliers.

o Efficient communication with suppliers regarding orders.

o Checking SKU’s delivered against invoice, communicating short dated deliveries

o Receiving invoices onto POS system.

o Communicating any points which need accounting follow ups and returning paperwork.

o Managing returns/pick-ups o Recording credit requests.

o Efficient stock rotation so as to ensure a minimum amount of expiries.

• Merchandising, Visual appearance of store, Discount and Promotions

o Running promotions as detailed by management.

o Ensuring new stock lines (SKU’s) added to shelf as per management request.

Manage and order from 42 suppliers.

Purchase orders, GRVs (Goods Received Vouchers), RTS( Returns to Supplier), and then creating new stock codes and information.

Look for alternative suppliers if the current ones are not pulling their weight and meeting out current requirements.

Out of stock products Email a list weekly or when I know what is out of stock to everyone concerned.

Min/Max list daily

Check what stock is on order then place orders for stock below or at minimum stock level.

Follow up on current orders placed.

Stock issues find out if the stock was received why more or less on the system then what we actually have, fix the issue. (investigate)

Special orders

Check the special order book check weekly, order and follow up on out of stock items.

Most other special orders get emailed to me as well. Order or send to the buyer concerned.

When the special order arrives I need to let the sales person know, get the stock (and give it to them to remind them to let the client know the stock is here).

Make sure that the sales person has let the client know.

Client profiles

Notes and details that need to be updated (notes and change of address) are emailed to me by front or sales staff members and I then need to make changes in back office.

Credit notes

These need a manager to override the code as I need to look at what they are crediting and why then sign the credit note.

Also needing to re-print the credit notes from back office for credit note list for the front staff.

Wholesalers: 32 at this moment.

Daily and weekly orders.

Adjust the contracts as they order new goods.

Discuss all new pricing of new and current wholesalers with the general manager and boss.

Inform all wholesalers when feed prices go up and then working out their new prices

Nelspruit (other branch that we send a truck weekly ): Pack the order, make sure that all stock gets loaded. Then I need to do the invoice and send it on the day of loading.

All export clients

All export clients do the quote, pack, check warehouse stock is loaded correctly and then invoice. Sometimes a courier will need to be arranged from my side.

Managing:

Week days I manage alone in the afternoons when the General Manager leaves.

Weekends I need to manage and train the new staff as much as possible given the training for the day as well as inform them of how the business runs and operates.

Credit note I need to enter codes to approve the credit note may be done as well as overrides certain pricing on the system.

Stock take and counts that I need to do monthly.

January 2020- May 2020:

Riding instructor, trainer and Barn manager at Al Jassimya Farm in Doha,Qatar.

Duties and responsibilities:

Create and oversee a riding instruction programme. I give the 4 children as well as guest’s lessons on how to ride horses.

Oversea the welfare of all the horses in the barn. There are 30 horses.

Break in young horses and get them ready to be ridden and worked with.

Train the horses to be ridden at shows.

Riding and conditioning the stallion with regards to securing their nutritional needs are met.

Create and oversee the feeding programme of all the horses in the barn in co-ordination with the Vet.

Oversee the farrier programme for all of the horses in co-ordination with the farrier.

Oversee the grooms on their daily tasks, make sure that all the stables are clean and mucked out, the horses are groomed and taken out into the paddocks for a set amount of time.

Make sure that the day to day activates that the grooms need to complete are done properly and on time.

Create and maintain the riding and tack inventory.

Create and maintain the monthly budget in co-ordination with the accountant.
