Description of the Project

Société Générale is one of the largest financial services groups in the Euro-zone. ALD Automotive is the operational leasing and fleet management business line (specialized financial service) of the Société Générale Group. Current business is Car leasing and fleet management. This Business offers a vehicle, over a fixed period of hire, for a fixed contract mileage or duration and a fixed monthly rental. It is the most popular form of vehicle acquisition in business today. With this product, the risks and rewards of ownership stay substantially with the lessor (ALD Automotive). ALD Automotive calculates a residual value for a vehicle at a set age and mileage contract, and charges the user a monthly fee to cover depreciation over that period, plus a funding charge, along with add-on services such as maintenance and accident management. The lessee takes no risk in ownership and has predictable monthly costs. He effectively just pays for the use of the vehicle.

DecLease is a comprehensive Vehicle leasing software package and is used mainly in the European countries where ALD International has a very strong presence. ALDI in the recent past has started expanding its operations outside Europe, mostly into Asia and America and as a result, DecLease is now being used by 24 countries, As ALDI expands into more and further new countries, it is imperative that support to all countries using DecLease is provided in a timely, organized and focused manner. The package is developed on COBOL and is highly parameterized to adapt to specific leasing business environments prevalent in each country. Included in the DecLease package is an integrated Accounting system (CTC).
