RESEARCH AND PROJECTS

Fire Fighting Smart Tank: Using a STM32 microcontroller, built and programmed an autonomous tank. This tank is capable of navigating custom courses using multiple ultrasonic sensors, infrared sensors, and obstacle sensors. The robot is then to find rooms in the course, going into them while recording the room number, figuring out whether the room has a light/heat emitting source, lined boxes, or simply empty. Once the tank has finished, whether that is after finding the object, or a set time has elapsed, the robot will exit the room, simultaneously displaying the room number and the object found using multiple LEDs. All on board electronics including the motor driver, microcontroller, and various input and output sensors are powered by 18650 cells alongside voltage regulation, reverse polarity and overcurrent protection. Lab Buddy: Independently designed and built a circuit board with various functions; regulating the correct voltage via switch regulator to power onboard components, amplification of microphones while implementing a RC filter using Op Amps (using active components to achieve sharper cutoff and output impedance), monitoring surrounding temperatures and relaying that information to its user via LEDs, etc.

Night Lamp: Arduino based night light that illuminates the hallway when the ambient light is low and doppler radar motion sensor is triggered.

Charging Circuit: Designed a charging controller that automatically charges a drill battery once the voltage drops below a set point and stops charging when full (hysteresis) using Op Amps.

Motor Fan Control (PLC): Collaborated with team members to design and program an Omron PLC, allowing it to control fan speeds based on the ambient temperature.

Digital Calendar: Designed and wrote VHDL code to create a functional calendar using Nexys4 FPGA board.
