PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Excellerate Mfg., Olathe, KS SEPT 2019 - APR 2020

Warehouse/Materials Manager

Managed all Warehouse and Materials requirement for the Excellerate facility. This facility manufactured and stored construction assemblies used at different construction sites.

I managed all the inventories and was involved in setting up the new ERP system.

I also managed the material and packaging department. I was responsible for 10 employees in the shipping, receiving, inventory, and purchasing department. We shipped/received approx. 10 trucks per day. The warehouse held over 2500 assemblies for the different job sites. These assemblies where shipped out to the sites when requested.

Harley-Davidson, Kansas City, MO SEPT 2012 – JULY 2019 Packaging Engineer

Managed all packaging requirement for the HDKC facility. This includes all launches, current CI improvements, running changes and all other issues that are packaging related. I also lead all packaging changes for a facility in a foreign country with contractors reporting directly to me. I am responsible for submitting budgets for changes in the plant and manage the budgets from prototyping until completion of the project. I work closely with our returnable management company on any shortages, lost dunnage and running changes to make sure the containers are shipped to the correct location.

Material Facilitator – Production Control Department (2001-2003)

Managed 18 dock doors and responsible for unloading 25+ trailers a day in a just in time environment. Supervised 10 union personnel and managed inventories for 1500 production parts. Achieved cost reduction targets in my section by reducing manpower by 2 employees. I was responsible for maintaining and updating all changes in the Kanban system. Worked with the railroad on the scheduling, the loading, and unloading of railcars.

Launch Team Coordinator – Production Control Department (1999-2001)

Managed and implemented packaging and shipping requirement for 2200 parts on a new vehicle launch. These requirements were developed at the Pilot Plant in Detroit by holding meetings with every supplier and other DaimlerChrysler plants. Developed and implemented the Kanban system for the assembly plant. This included holding training sessions for 50 union and 10 management personnel.

Material Handling Engineer – Material Handling Eng. (1997-1999)

Managed a $4 million cost savings budget; this resulted in quality improvements, reduction of ergonomic issues, and a $33 per vehicle savings. I also worked with the IE department in optimizing 160 jobs stations by changing the packaging and layout of the production stations. Launched the Kanban system in the assembly plant and trained plant personnel. This included setting up 300+ workstations and training plant personnel on 2 shifts.

Paint Facilitator – Paint Department (1995-1997)

Supervised 30 paint personnel in the paint department on 2 production lines. Developed and implemented Standard Operating Procedure on scrap to control and minimize cost. Successfully implemented the PELT system in paint, this was used to troubleshoot and confirming the paint department was meeting the corporate standards.

Injection Mold Engineer – Engineering Department (1991-1995)

I was responsible for smooth and timely start up of new injections process from prototype to full production. These processes included co-injection, and dual injection using many different types of materials. I provided Engineering support helping to troubleshoot over 50 injection machines ranging from 25 to 2000 tons. Set up and programmed robots used to remove parts from the molds to optimize job stations. Studied mold design and process improvements in Japan.
