As an adept Permit Writer/Operator, I have a well-rounded background with OSSA Permits, Isolations and LOTO. Additionally, I am a proven expert in decision-making and a consistent collaborator. My previous roles have strengthened my abilities in teamwork and problem-solving, including a focused attention to detail and accuracy.
With my background in Permit Writing, Operator and Journeyman Welder I’ve been working with the
Process Plants and Mining for 10 years. (Syncrude, Suncor, CNRL)
I also worked on all Syncrudes Dredges performing maintenance both mechanical and structural. Install pumps and bubbler systems. Complete both isolations and LOTO on dredge.
Over the past 2 years I’ve been working with Major Projects Department Issuing Permits
(OSSA) and Area Authority working closely with the Job Coordinator for the daily work scopes. I’ve built, installed and removed isolations following Syncrudes standards. Great experience in Commissioning and Start up with each Project I worked on.

• Syncrude Base Mine, Tailings Department, receiving OSSA safe work permits for the Top Shop. Working on projects in the tailings area for Syncrude Operations. Structural steel modifications on mobile shacks, building levelling pipes for dozers to pull, receiving daily OSSA work permits from associated permit offices. Making culverts for road crossings in and around the tailings areas. Welding repair on heavy equipment buckets, blades, tracks even work on cranes.
Graham – BFI (Syncrude) Fort McMurray, AB 2013-2016 Job Title: Journeyman Welder
• Syncrude Base Mine at the Fine Fluid Tailings facility. Receiving daily permits to perform conveyor repairs, structural platform installations and modifications, installation of fixed ladders and various skids for pumps. Welding repair on heavy equipment buckets, blades, tracks. Working in confined spaces such as storage tanks and vessels for structural reinforcement. Removal of and reinstallation of various pumps around the facility. Dredge maintenance, removal of pumps and install, install bubbler system and repair. Commissioning of Vessels for startup, working with the Syncrude commissioning team and project permit office.
AECON (Suncor) Fort McMurray, AB 2012-2013 Job Title: Working Foreman
•Suncor Plant Site. Welding pile caps and pipe supports around the plant site and Tailings areas. Installed and welded down structural mods. Welded lifting lugs and ensured 100% UT. Supervision of work crew.
