Nurse Manager

01/2018 - 04/2020 DIALYSIS CLINIC INC 5300 Archdale Blvd, North Charleston, SC

I managed three home dialysis programs with about 50 plus patients at any given time. I was responsible for the day to day operations and the financials. I oversaw the training and education for the home dialysis patients. I communicated directly with the Medical Directors at each clinic, other doctors, and with MUSC. I worked directly with the patients performing monthly visits, doctor visits and training the patients. I did the QAPI reports each month for two of the clinics and was involved with the governing body at two of the clinics. I was lead for the 5 Diamond project at 1 clinic for both home program and in-center. I provided education for in-center patients by way of educational boards and lobby days where I would speak with each patient. I performed free pre-esrd educational classes to the public. I have been trained in peritoneal dialysis and have been educated in home hemodialysis. We took care of adult and pediatric patients in the home program.

I was responsible for all in-center day to day activities at the clinic. I completed QAPI monthly and presented it to the Medical Director. I worked directly with the Medical Director, other MD's and the NP. I was responsible for the fiancials of the clinic as well. I worked directly with the patients providing direct care and performing the duties of the charge nurse. I worked directly with the two area directors.

Charge Home Nurse

09/2012 - 12/2016 DaVita Dialysis various locations, N Charleston, SC

While working at DaVita, I started as an in-center hemodialysis charge nurse. Following that I became the home PD nurse for the clinic in March 2013. In July 2016, I transferred to Charleston, SC and continued as a home therapies nurse. The responsibilities of a home therapies nurse includes taking care of the patients with monthly visits that included education, lab draws, assessments and review of how they were doing. I would also assess the patients at the MD visit. Labs would be reviewed, diet reviewed, education reinforced and assessment completed. I provided education and training for all new peritoneal dialysis patients. This would include teaching all they needed to know on how to do their treatments at home. I was also a certified Kidney Smart educator which is education for pre-esrd people on dialysis and how to prepare for receiving dialysis.
