Tech Mahindra Ltd. (February 2010 – January 2017)

Project 1- Development and Support for CCB SE BILLING – AT&T SE Billing, US Business Office Customer Record Inquiry System (BOCRIS) is a mainframe based application that allows authorized users to access customer data and billing information. The application also provides update capability to the customer records. 12 designated IMS Control Regions throughout BellSouth.

Role: Technical Lead.

Responsibilities –

Define & prioritize system requirement scope with business analysts.

Work with System Architects to translate the business requirements into application design by conducting feasibility studies and providing solutions/alternatives.

Assist project manager in creating estimates, WBS, project delivery schedule and project status.

Lead technically in all project delivery phases – requirement gathering, application design, coding and testing, implementation.

Mentor a team of developers and testers for project deliveries.

Assist team in understanding project scope and requirements, quick root cause analysis and fixing of production live defects that impact business or end users. Achievements –

Project 2- Development and Support for CRIS USBC – AT&T SW/MW Billing, US Usage Arrangement & Bill Update (USBC) are two subsystems of ACIS to support AT&T’s Customer Billing in Midwest region. The Usage Arrangement subsystem processes the long distance and local usage for the customer's bill that have already been rated and priced by another subsystem known as CAMPS.

Fifth Third Bank ranked number 287 on the Fortune 500 (April 2004). Fifth Third provides a broad array of products and services through four primary businesses: Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, Investment Advisors and Bank Processing Solutions. Batch CIF is a data processing system that performs the extract, split (Split, sort & distribution) and maintenance of RAFT online customer/account information. Project challenge included identification of key points in the other systems to which Batch CIF distributes the data and map all the business processes and technical aspects. Project task included understanding processes happening in the source system and rectify/justify unexpected behavior from system to business users.

Role: Senior Software Engineer.

LIC is the largest insurer in India maintaining with a market share of 74 %. LIC has built an in- house application named FEAP over a period of 15 years. FEAP is a monolithic application having a character based user interface with ISAM file system. FEAP application written in Microfocus COBOL and is running on Redhat Linux platform. Transformation project to modernize FEAP application was undertaken. This project transforms the monolithic application to an n-tier architecture with Browser based Web UI, J2EE application server for presentation layer management, Microfocus Server for SOA for COBOL Business logic and database access layer development and REBMS as database. Syntel Technologies Ltd. (March 2006 - July 2007)

Project: Ameriprise Insurance – OB09, Ameriprise Financial, USA Ameriprise Financial is a company with over two million clients and one of the largest advisor networks in the US.

The 34-year old Traditional Life System is one of the major applications for retail insurance and annuity administration within AEFA. It processes annuities, traditional life insurance, such as whole life and term insurance, disability income and long-term care products. The Traditional Life system is a mainframe-based system developed internally with Assembler code and sequential files. Given the numerous enhancements over time, the system is now approximately 60% Assembler and 40% COBOL. ECR: The Entity Consolidation & Re-branding project was to consolidate, through merger, the five separate insurance entities into two. Business as usual project was to solve the Work Request to fix the business issues and enhancement in the system to add new feature in products.

Role: Analyst/Programmer.

Responsibilites:

Involved in analyzing the code and preparing the design document according to the requirements specified.

Preparing the Low Level Design and the Unit test plans for the same.

Involved in Coding in COBOL and Assembler for the inclusion of the product.

Involved coding in Easytrieve for displaying the values present in the VSAM file whose lengths ranges from anywhere from 70 bytes to 18000 bytes.

Involved in System testing of the system.
