Electrical Engineer currently working in DAR-Al-Handasah responsible for the design, design review, coordination and project management of various projects undertaken by the firm, covering electrical high voltage transmission lines, medium voltage distribution, electrification networks and urban developments.

Responsible for the design, design review, coordination and project management of various projects undertaken by the firm, covering electrical high voltage transmission lines, medium voltage distribution, electrification networks, including data collection and support in construction supervision and preparation of feasibility studies, tender documents, design drawings including transmission line route and conductor selection, tower spotting, line profiling using PLS-CADD software, conductor sag and tension tables, clearance verification, insulator and hardware design, earthing system, tower families, insulation coordination, specifications, calculations, cost estimates and optimizations, and other technical design documents for following projects:

-Construction of 400 kV Transmission Line & Expansion of 400 kV Switchyard: Detail executive level design documents preparation including line profiles using PLS CADD, tower spotting, sag and tension tables, insulation coordination studies, calculation of earthing system, tower layouts, insulator string layouts, calculation of load trees, review and witnessing type test and factory acceptance tests for overhead equipment for 240 km, 400 kV single circuit & 15 km, 220 kV double circuit line in African Region.

-400 kV Overhead Power Transmission Line: Data collection, review of feasibility studies, preparation of tender documents, assistance during pre-contract stage and construction and supervision of 366 km long 400 kV single circuit transmission line associated with AIS type 400/220 kV substation in East Africa.

-400 kV Transmission Line with associated Substation: Design Review and supervision of construction for supply and installation of 400 km, 400 kV single circuit with 3 conductor per phase covering witnessing Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning of system in Africa.

-Design review and supervision of construction for supply and installation of five transmission lines, a total length of 534 km including witnessing Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning of system in Africa.

-Design and production of detailed tender specification of 66 kV transmission line and post award contractor’s review and approvals for a double circuit 66 kV transmission line in Middle East.

-Electrification works and housing connections in African City: Design review and supervision of construction for 15 km of 60 kV single circuit and double circuit lines including two new 60 kV/30 kV and one 60 kV/15 kV substation, and expansion of an existing 60 kV/15 kV substation in addition to 40 km of 30 kV and 15 kV distribution lines for service connections and road lighting system.

Technology Engineer for design and business development task of overhead HTLS conductors and preparation of tender specification.

With Sterlite Power Transmission Limited

Responsible for the design, new product development and business advance activities.

-Designing of High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors for transmission lines for PGCIL India, Indian State Electricity Boards & International electric utilities & perform analysis on transmission characteristics.

-Ensure that the designs & qualities meet the customer/client specification and requirement.

-Calculation of Sag-Tension, Current Ratings, Costing for project optimization with technical checklist for BOQ (hardware & towers, EPC & substation project work).

-Complete Layout preparation and design of HPC & HTLS conductors which includes, Composite Fibre Reinforced, Thermal alloy (STACIR, TACSR and GAP) & ACSS technology type conductors.

-Managed coordination work clarification with client, subcontractors, material suppliers and consultants to achieve the project quality & timeline.

-Developed & established technical presentations and guidelines needed for project implementation.

-Provided supports for other Transmission Line Engineers as needed.

-Business development activities-Market analysis, Customer visit for PRE-RFQ dealing & Technical RFQ addressing for domestic & export market.

-Facilitated the testing of transmission equipment in GLOBAL labs & analysis of transmission characteristics.

Dealing with special type of alloys like Al-59 and Super thermal alloys for overhead conductors.

-Participated in lead role for development of composite reinforced fibre core to be used in overhead power conductors for electrical applications at Ahmedabad Textile Research Lab.

-Worked as lead Engineer for ‘mutual impedance significance for LG faults and surge impedance loading characteristic’ project analysis with Essar Power Transmission and Alstom.
