PROFESSIONAL NURSING DUTIES: Performed nursing duties in the care of medical, surgical and pediatric patients admitted in the ward with neurological problems as per their need by doing thorough assessment. Monitored patients' health, recorded signs and symptoms and notified the doctor if any change. Prepared patients for surgery, debridement and lumbar puncture. Consulted with doctors and pharmacists for the alternative medicines to the patient experiencing financial hardship. Advocated for free service to the patients who could not afford medical service. QUALITY PATIENT CARE: Patient safety was always the first priority while delivering care. Adhered to infection control practices and techniques while providing care to the patients for example wearing PPE(Personal Protective Equipment) such as, mask, gloves, shoes, apron, etc and handwashing before and after each procedure and using hand sanitizer before and after touching each patient. Raised side rails of the bed to prevent falls with neurological deficit patients. Equipment used for the treatment of patients were properly maintained after use and checked regularly resulting in higher equipment readiness such as, cardiac monitor, ECG machine, nebulizer suction machine, etc. Managed the ward during staff shortage by covering their shifts and helping the staff when sick on duty. Evidence based practices were adopted for instance changing IV cannula every 4-5 days to prevent thromboembolism or when necessary.

ASEPSIS AND DISINFECTION: Responsible for the observance of the asepsis and disinfection of the equipment in the chlorine solution used by the patient that are not single use. Mopping the floor with aseptic solution every 4 hrs and when needed. Controlled visitors access to the ward during specific time to prevent infection and facilitated visitors to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
DOCUMENTATION: Responsible for recording all the care given to the patient and actions taken for smooth ward operation. Maintained input and output record of the patient, charting vital signs taken, suctioning done, any settings changed in ventilator, change in any medical and nursing care plan.
