During my second semester of first year nursing, I was placed at a long-term care facility called Ponderosa in Kamloops for clinical. In practice, I learned to perform basic assessments, complete morning care, and gained experience operating ceiling tract lifts and using transfer aids. SEMPTEMBER 2019-DECEMBER 2019

During my 13-week rotation on 4-North, I was able to care for acute patients on the ward. In addition, I practiced medication administration, charting, and worked with equipment such as bladder scanners, IVs, ostomy bags, and catheters.

During my short maternity and child practicum, I spent 77.5 hours caring for postop mothers, infants, and children.
