I am a recent graduate with my Bachelor’s in Accounting at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. I plan on continuing my education this summer online at Houston Community College to become an eligible candidate for the CPA exam. I plan on becoming a licensed CPA in the state of Texas by the end of 2021 and am looking for any entry level accounting careers available as of right now.

Helped in the yearly audit of financial statements for clients for this tax year. Completed auditing tasks like testing for cash, PPE, legal, Operating expenses, other income and expenses, AP, AR, equity and journal entry testing. Communicated with clients’ upper level management about the accuracy and completion of the financial statements. Learned the financial side of how businesses run and how to properly read and complete the financial statements at year end.

Learned the ins and outs of the whole accounting department including learning all the transactions that took place, the month end closings and financial reporting. Completed an audit project that recognized and tested controls. Met with each team within the financial side of the company including: the treasury team, the FP&A team and the CEO of the company.

ACTIVITIES
I am very interested in Real Estate and plan on buying rental units and flipping houses soon. I like to listen to real estate podcasts and read business books, especially ones about the stock market and investing. I am a family man; I love to spend time with my sisters and brother. I love to play sports and watch sports, especially basketball and football. At Texas State, I was involved in a social fraternity, College Republicans and Student Government. My brother is in Special Olympics, so I help every year with his basketball tournaments.
