Sr Engineer II, Operations

Sr Process Automation and Control Engineer II for Midland DRAP operations.

Technical Lead for all Level II group activities on the Direct Roll Anneal Pickle (DRAP) line.

Strategize and develop the control algorithms, logic, programs and GUI screens for G.E. Cimplicity SCADA control system. Support various other Visual Basic, C++, C# and other scripting programs.

Principal Electrical Engineer

Technical/Principal lead developing Ovation® DCS control logic for NI/CI/BOP systems for the AP1000 Gen III PWR Nuclear Power plants. Utilized Emerson Ovation® DCS control software to develop control strategies, algorithms and solutions for various AP1000 sub-system valves, motors, dampers, pumps, level controls, temperature controls and Pressure control devices. Responsible for developing Ovation Signal diagram control logic and Graphic display screens and Macros for AP1000. Responsible for creating, supporting and releasing Software Release Records (SRR) to customer/plant for integration, hot functional testing and startup of first of a kind AP1000 Sanmen nuclear power plant in China and Vogtle nuclear power plant in Georgia, U.S.A.

Performed Instrumentation and Controls Engineering utilizing Westinghouse Program Wide Database (PWD) for new AP1000 Nuclear Power Plant projects.

Developed Control logic for AP1000 RCP pumps and 50/60 Hz VFD drives.

Performed design, prototype development, testing, manufacturing support, and delivery of multiple vessel and pump vibration and monitoring systems while in the SMS group in New Stanton, PA utilizing LabVIEW, Emerson Ovation and digital storage scope.

Developed and implemented various system test procedures for Boration Dilution, Seismic Monitoring and AP1000 systems.

Acquired detailed knowledge of Accelerometers, Proximity probes, Strain gauges, Linear Transducers and RTD’s. Performed detailed frequency analysis utilizing Fast Fourier Transforms on digital storage scope.

Attenuation Circuit - researched, designed and constructed an attenuation circuit used in conjunction with preamplifiers, signal conditioners and accelerometers for use in the First of a Kind Comprehensive Vibration Assessment Program (CVAP) project while employed at Westinghouse Electric Company.
