I am currently part of the Production

As a Rigger/Crane Operator we receive our

work assignments and projects from the

supervisor and dispatcher, as well as any

urgent matter at hand or that arises with the

individuals and mechanics to insure that

adequate material handling equipment and

tools are available to accomplish the work at

gear, safety practices, and equipment. I

possess extensive amount of knowledge of

personal computers and various software

packages. I share regulations on safety, fire,

and hazardous materials pertaining to work and

oversee and give advise on safety and material

handling equipment. As this representative I

inspect work areas and report to supervisor

anything concerning my inspections. I perform

leadership duties by demonstrating hands on

work methods and machine operations.

Being a journeyman rigger I possess the

knowledge and have displayed the ability to

perform my work duties, making safe and

complex lifts using the knowledge of Material

Handling Equipment. I am highly experienced

on building cables and running the load test

machine. I have mobile, pendant, and overhead

crane operator permits up to 75 tons and

engineering equipment operator licenses,

CAT(988) and 644, forklift. And have operated

the 850 Dozier, Skid Steer, M9 ACE, AAV, LAV,

MTVR, COUGAR, HMMMV, and am on the

expedited list for LVSR license. I have a great

work relationship with everyone in the crane

way workforce and am able to communicate

well with everyone and lift and maintain

employee morale. At times I fill in for the

dispatcher which is a position that only a few of

us employees have the knowledge of while

having to provide spreadsheets, work

processing, e-mail, and electronic filing

systems.

In my position I receive instructions and pass

them on to other workers to get work started

instructions to. While setting the pace for work I can see to it that we have the needed plans,

blueprints, materials, and tools from supply by

submitting requests to the supervisor. I try very

hard to demonstrate proper work methods and

and answers for co-workers with less

knowledge of rigging/crane operating, tech.

manuals, work orders, work instructions,

standard procedures, and process standards.

Being knowledgeable in material handling I

know to see to it that there is enough work to

keep everyone busy and productive. I assure

that safety, house keeping, work in progress,

work finished, work sequence, procedures,

methods, and deadlines are met, on tract, or

delayed and take the report to the supervisor. At

times I have to prepare lists of various rigging

As Crane Operator, I operate one 75 ton hoist

with 10 ton auxiliary, and two 30 ton hoists with

5 ton auxiliary in lifting, moving, and placing, in support of shop operations, the following like

equipment: Trucks, Land and Amphibian;

Trailers, Land and Amphibian; Tanks, and Gun

Carriers; Landing Vehicles, Tracked Cranes;

Tractors (Wheeled and Tracked); Heavy

Operate overhead crane to lift, move, and

position loads, such as machinery, equipment,

products, and solid or bulk materials, using

hoisting attachments, such as hook, sling,

hooks, and shackles. Observe load hookup and

determines safety of load.

Manipulate crane controls, such as pedals,

levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and

direction of crane and hoist movement

according to written, verbal, or signal

instructions. Clean and maintain crane and

hoisting mechanism. Inspect crane for defective

parts and notifies supervisor of defects or

malfunctions. Attach load to hook or other crane

accessory prior to operating crane.

Perform rigging duties required to move and

place in proper position, equipment such as

tracked vehicles, artillery pieces, trucks,

construction equipment and communication

shelters for tear down and rebuild, and

movement of such equipment in and out of

storage areas adjacent to the Maintenance

center.

Knowledge of capacity and limitation of

equipment, weight, handling gear, and rigging in

relationship to size and weight of object being

handled by selecting the proper rigging. Also

hooks up and directs the crane operator from

the floor in the proper movement of equipment

such as tanks, M88 tank retrievers, heavy

artillery pieces, trucks, LAV's, AAV's, MRAP

Buffaloes and Cougars, M9 ACE's, MK-48,

communication shelters, and all types of heavy

construction equipment.

Direct the crane operator in removal and

installation of turrets, gun tubes, power packs,

and drives and ensure that they are placed in

position and are secure. Occasionally move

heavy equipment into areas where there is no

overhead crane, having to use come-a longs,

chain hoists, fork lifts with various attachments, and/or rollers to place equipment into position.

Plan and work on my own during the lifting of

large heavy loads which must be maneuvered

into position, often involving close and narrow

openings or confined areas, while ensuring the

safety of personnel and equipment. Plan and

fabricate by cutting and splicing wire rope by

hand and using mechanical equipment. Install

thimbles, swivels, rings, hooks, shackles,

turnbuckles, and other fittings. Tools used to

perform these duties are cables, spikes, and

rigger vices.

Inspect all types of weight handling equipment

for overall quality of. Inspect construction in the shop to determine operational and safety

condition of equipment. Ensure materials and

tools are available to perform the tasks.

Operate clutches, levers, brakes, and

accelerators to raise and lower the boom.

Skilled and knowledgeable in the material

handling trade to estimate weight and how it

must be rigged for precision and safety based

on the size, shape, and location of equipment

that is to be moved. Know the capacity of the rig

and mobile equipment and have the skill to set

component parts within any given tolerance on

all equipment being worked. Work from oral

instruction, blue prints, and technical manuals,

and responsible for selecting the proper

equipment and decide the method to perform

the operations.

Work under the supervision of a work

supervisor as well as work in areas some

distance from the work supervisor. Responsible

for inspecting and repairing wire ropes and

other crane rigging devices. Responsible for

reporting all difficulties encountered to the work

supervisor, such as: delays and interruptions

that affect the flow of material. Work by general

instructions, verbal instructions, and written

to be moved are securely hooked and that

slings are adequate and have been tested for

the load.

Use ladders and work at extreme heights, such

as: on top of and inside large tanks, trucks, and

other equipment. Stands, crouches, kneels,

crawls, stoops, and occasionally works in close

cramped areas while wearing personal

protective equipment, such as: safety glasses,

hard hat, hearing protection, respirators, and

safety shoes. Heavy exertion is sometimes

required when lifting items up to 100 ponds

while in awkward positions.

Welder, Department of Navy;

Having approximately 16 years in the

journeyman status I can identify parts,

determine routes, forecast, identify, substitute

parts, and provide resolutions to problems

during the repair, rebuild, fabrication, and/or

modification of this heavy mobile/military

equipment. My main responsibility is welding -

Mig, SMAW, SST, but I also frequently use an

air arc (for gauging),cutting torch, plasma torch, grinder, overhead crane, and even do some

sandblasting. I am highly experienced in

reading and interpreting blue prints and

drawings to determine material requirements. I

am very well knowledgeable of shop floor

scheduling principles, practices, and

procedures, as well as the production

processes within the remanufacturing

environment. Working in this environment for so

long I have the knowledge and skill to evaluate

production to determine if schedules are missed

and determine causes and resolutions for the

production delays. On daily bases I

demonstrate the understanding of and solving

of complex problems, demonstrate the ability to

communicate orally and in writing with all levels

of management. Day to day I resolve problems

in accordance with instructions, policies,

previous training, and accepted practices. I

have no problem following Work Instructions,

engineering Process Instructions, Process

I have the ability perform electrical duties:

Replace, repair, adjust, clean, lubricate,

reassemble and test for serviceability. Repair,

replace, test and fabricate wiring harness and

cable assemblies, utilizing precision tools and

instruments as micrometers, calipers, dial

indicators, and electronic test instruments such

as oscilloscopes, amp meters, voltmeters,

frequency meters, ohmmeters, and multimeters

in addition to using the mechanical and

electrical hand tools common to the trade and

operating lathers, drill presses, and grinders.

I perform inspections on all rolling stock in all

areas. I record the results of audits and

inspections conducted to include date and

location of inspection, description of

deficiencies, and number of deficiencies found.

Inspections I perform are visual, dimensional,

functional, and operational primarily on

machinery such as tractors, transport

equipment, cranes, and engineering equipment

including, but not limited to 966, 644, bobcats,

stick steers.

Make repairs, remove engines, transmissions,

transfers and other related parts and

components so specialized shops can repair/

rebuild them. Inspect and evaluate components

and parts using exact specification that are

required by following the technical manual,

process standards, drawings, blueprints, and

precision measuring devices.

Inspect combat vehicles (including amphibious),

tactical vehicles, transportation, and

engineering and material handling equipment

for dimensional controls, tolerance corrosion,

alignment, and workmanship. inspects,

performs, and witnesses test on a variety of

fabricated, repaired, and rebuilt work performed

by others on a broad range of complex and

highly sophisticated combat and tactical

vehicles, including amphibious vehicles and

support equipment. Place equipment in the

proper condition code after performing a final

acceptance inspection by using MIL-STRAP

codes. Interpret technical documents such as

sketches, schematics shop repair orders and

blue prints to ensure all repairs and

maintenance is completed in a timely manner.

This equipment consists of complicated and

interconnecting components and complex

assemblies and integrated systems.

Utilize measuring instruments such as dial

indicators, dial calipers, special go/no-go

gauges, feeler gauges, and surface roughness

comparison gauge in order to complete

inspections of heavy mobile equipment.

Troubleshoot heavy mobile equipment by

performing in-process inspections and tests.

I perform visual inspections of external surfaces

of vehicles, pertaining to evidence of corrosion,

leakage of fluids such as lubricants and oils,

My duties at American Southern were

supervising one department of the mill, welding

as needed to be repaired, and mechanizing on

the saws and machinery when they failed. In

this position I was responsible for providing a

schedule for workload, initiating the

procurement of parts, releasing work to the

shop, monitoring and providing status on work

in the shop, and issuing parts to the shop, along

with managing the work progress in the shop. I

was required to perform this task to meet the

master production schedule goals for the mill. I

had to procure and manage parts required for

the workload, repairs, and production of the mill. I had to communicate with the other Supervisor/

Planner and Expeditor/Forklift Operator to

ensure continuous flow of production.

Continually providing statuses on work

production including work stoppages, repairs

that arise, completions of workload, delays due

to changing saws, blades, or rotation of

completed work.

Manage projects, plan lumber orders and

maintenance repairs strategically, analyze

equipment and facility projects, upgrade and

modernize the mill with waste reduction

production enhancements that had to be

researched, planned, designed, and fabricated

before install.

After install I would provide my expertise by

testing and maintaining the equipment, high

voltage electrical, mechanical, and construction

of the project.

support acquisition, and review laborers work
