Role & responsibilities as a QA/QC Engineer-Welding
Preparation, revise & getting client approvals of QA/QC procedures like Quality Plan, ITP, Material approval & Its control, Vendor approval, Consumable control, Welding, NDE, PWHT, Testing, Coating, Calibration, Reports etc, to suit to Client’s requirements/ Client’s specifications and submit for approval of various equipments for petrochemical refinery, oil & gas industry EPC projects, Attend meetings to represent quality.
Develop, implement,monitor and oversee the project quality plan through out all phases of the project. Promote and enforce the use of NCRs, CARs, KPIs, Trending/Tracking, Audit close out, Process conformance/Improvement.
Act as the focal and coordination point for ISO internal and external audits. And review of Subcontractor quality management and control programs..
Interface and coordinate with clients for production and QC matters and coordinate with third party inspection agencies for all related inspection activities.
Inspection of Raw materials (Plates, Pipes, Flanges, Gaskets, Bolt & Nuts, Welding consumable etc), Structural Material and review their Material Test Certificates (MTCs) as per applicable material code and client specification.
Review and approval of welding procedure specifications (WPS) with relevant Procedure Qualification Test (PQR) prior to start of welding activities at site. Witnessing Procedure Qualification Test (PQR) including Tension and Guided-Bend Tests, Hardness Tests for the Qualification of WPS in accordance with ASME Sec. IX, AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3, API 1104 &Project Specification. Provide training and technical guidance to inspection personnel. Audits weld testing and weld material control.
Preparing daily and weekly inspection reports and issuing Inspection Release Certificates (IRC) & compiling them for future prospect.
Witnessing PT, MPI and also ensures that required NDE has been covered as per the project specification. Interpretation of radiography films.
Reviewed ISO, Spool fabrication drawings, Weld Map.
Inspected material of structural, Piping and joint Fit-up, diameter, schedule, root gap, internal misalignment, rotation of various material such as CS, LTCS, CR-Mo, A.S etc and PMI wherever required.
Monitored in-process welding parameters such as ampere, voltage, travel speed, heat input, weaving, preheat & inter-pass temperature requirements, post heating of CS,LA,SS Pipes and tankages.
Inspected root for branch welds like sock-o-lets, weld-o-lets, reinforced branch connection’s and other welds wherever accessible.
Monitoring and inspecting the prefabrication works by the sub-contractors, including the inward inspection, material handling techniques, heat number transfers, Fit-up and welding activities, Post weld heat treatment (PWHT) of welding joints, hardness test, PMI (Positive material identification), reinforced pad test, Orientation and Flush grinding of orifice flanges.
Inspected Consumables, their package, handling and storage and reviewed batch test results..
Conduct welds audit and monitor welder performance and weld rejection rate.
Maintain a log book for all reports, inspections and tests, including date, time and results of Calibration certificates.
Punch listing of piping packages for Cat ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C” and ensure that properly identified valves are installed in accordance with the flow diagram, inspection of hangers and guides in accordance with the piping drawings and the pipe support details.

Role & responsibilities as a QA/QC Engineer-Painting.
Preliminary Design and Check all the Painting and protective Coating Systems. Method of Application included: Spraying (Air, Airless and Plural Component Spray Systems), Field and Shop Application.
Preparing the daily work schedule and the weekly work plan, that includes manpower, equipment, materials, and working hours, liaison affiliated parties e.g. subcontractors, suppliers, construction etc.
Perform surveillance, activities monitoring and witness all aspects of Painting starting from the surface preparation to end of the final coat. Pre inspection with contractor or subcontractor before final inspection.
Experience of all Coating Inspection Instruments / Guages and Test kits in level of using (as an inspector) that includes: Climatic Conditions gages and measurements. DFT Magnetic / Ultrasonic Gages and measurements. Surface visible cleanliness comparators. Surface profile gages. Surface Contaminations Test Instruments, Surface Temperature Thermometers, Pinholes, Holiday and Discontinuity Testers of Dry applied Coats. Adhesion Testers of Dry applied Coats.
Conversant with most of the International Codes Required Standard (BSI, ASTM, ISO, SSPC and NACE).
Perform Inspection for Holiday Testing, Pull of test, Scratch test.
Witness and verify all aspects with regards to insulation from Material take off, insulation requirement, material quality during delivery.
Witnessing and approving pre job evaluation / After completion final acceptance tests.
Monitor project schedules, staffing charts, material availability, and equipment requirements.
Provide technical direction and guidance to the subcontractors and ensure the Technical Queries and Engineering change request are answered in a reasonable timescale.
Receiving paint material inspection like viscosity, specific gravity, shade matching, Paint shop Process inspection like measuring Relative humidity, dew point, and final inspection of painted components to check the DFT, Gloss level, adhesion, impact resistance, humidity resistance, salt spray resistance.
