AREAS OF ACCOMPLISHMENT:

Petroleum Specialist

1. Monitor gauges and flow meters and inspect equipment to ensure that tank levels, temperatures, chemical amounts, and pressures are at specified levels, reporting abnormalities as necessary.

2. Record operating data such as products and quantities pumped, stocks used, gauging results, and operating times.

3. Communicate with other workers, using signals, radios, or telephones, to start and stop flows of materials or substances.

4. Tend vessels that store substances such as gases, liquids, slurries, or powdered materials, checking levels of substances by using calibrated rods or by reading mercury gauges and tank charts.

5. Plan movement of products through lines to processing, storage, and shipping units, utilizing knowledge of interconnections and capacities of pipelines, valve manifolds, pumps, and tankage.

6. Read operating schedules or instructions or receive verbal orders, in order to determine amounts to be pumped.

7. Clean, lubricate, and repair pumps and vessels, using hand tools and equipment.

8. Collect and deliver sample solutions for laboratory analysis.

9. Connect hoses and pipelines to pumps and vessels prior to material transfer, using hand tools.

1. Maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customer's key personnel involved in or directly relevant to a logistics activity.

2. Develop an understanding of customers' needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met.

3. Direct availability and allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products.

4. Collaborate with other departments as necessary to meet customer requirements, to take advantage of sales opportunities or, in the case of shortages, to minimize negative impacts on a business.

5. Review logistics performance with customers against targets, benchmarks and service agreements.

6. Develop and implement technical project management tools such as plans, schedules, and responsibility and compliance matrices.

7. Direct team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources.

8. Report project plans, progress, and results.

• U.S. Army, Ft. Campbell, KY- Petroleum Supply Specialist 2004-2012

1. Successfully aided with the security and construction of a bulk fuel storage and pipeline terminal.

2. Weekly inspections and functions tests on petroleum distribution equipment such as hoses, valves, tools, gauges, and fuel testing equipment.

3. Aided with the storage of petroleum distribution equipment and vehicles. Such measures are to include inspections on unit level that match EPA and OHSA standards.

4. Taken and observed samples taken from various fuel distribution equipment pipeline manifolds using various fuel testing equipment.

5. Conducted onsite inspections before assuming responsibility of any piece of equipment or taking charge of a fuel distribution site such has a storage terminal.
