• Researched and selected appropriate art styles and aided in the organization of samples. Digital and traditional illustrations were commissioned, ranging from graphic to photo-based realism.

• Effectively negotiated fees and schedules while complying with budgetary requirements and timeframes. Prepared contracts and delivered to assigned illustrators and agents.

• Tracked, reviewed and commented on all stages of art, from sketches through final artwork.

• Commissioned artwork for Harcourt Math and Science programs. Illustrations purchased, ranged from full page 4C to blackline spots.

• Researched appropriate illustrators suitable for each program. Negotiated with artists timeframe and compensation to comply with budgetary requirements and deadlines.

• Received and placed, both sketch and final art onto server. Drafted contracts to assigned illustrators and agents. Updated database with current status of commissioned assignments. • Created 4/C art and blackline illustrations to be used in all K-6 disciplines, for teacher and pupil editions, and ancillaries. Executed props for the 2007 “Treasures” Reading Program.

• Successfully worked with vendors and internal design/editorial teams. Participated in concept meetings to efficiently develop art specs and effectively meet deadlines and budget requirements.

• Managed and motivated prop team. Executed children’s props to be used in photo shoots. Designed mock-ups of product labels for photo set-ups.

• Assisted art buyer with research and compilation of images for Science programs. Created layout and designer sketches for commissioned illustrators and assigned art. Ensured proper storage of art and update of files.
