Under the direction of a Neuroscience professor, explored the effects of a ketogenic diet on pain tolerance and anxiety behavior in rats and mice and the connection to anti-inflammatory and antiepileptic pathways.
Designed and conducted independent experiments, completed a senior thesis project
Gained experience writing scientific papers and reviewing manuscripts prior to publication.
Co-authored and presented a poster summarizing my research at the 2019 Society for Neuroscience conference.
Performed a wide range of laboratory procedures including buffer preparation, slide prep and staining, microscope analysis, tissue dissection, gel electrophoresis, and PCR.
