With almost 10 years of experience in the field designing and creating high-end furniture pieces, developing and executing interior projects, my curiosity goes beyond the practice of design and extends into any field. Showcasing a high-end capsule collection designed specially to be premiered at the Downtown Design. The designs were developed in Dubai and the pieces were hand crafted in Portugal.
Key Responsibilities
- Create the stand design for the exhibition and submitting to the event for approval
- Submit all the required forms and information for attending the exhibition
- Coordinate and providing all the marketing material with the marketing team of the exhibition
- Coordinate and supervise contractors on site on assembling the booth
- Conceptualization of the designs having in consideration the limited timeline, around 2 months from concepts, to prototyping/manufacturing and to get the pieces to the show
- Develop technical drawings for manufacturing guidance
- Support with additional documentation requested by the craftsman to improve time and processes
- Negotiate costs and prices with the craftsmen
- Follow-up the prototyping phase at the craftsmen workshops in Portugal
- Testing the products and checking quality control of the pieces
- Carefully plan a logistics plan to reduce size and costs when shipping
- Pack and inspect the collection for shipping to Dubai by airfreight

Designed 24 pieces of high-end furniture for an international interior design brand with dedicated showroom and provided assistance in prototyping and creating marketing content. The collection was presented in Shanghai Design Week with a press conference and cocktail event in their showroom with VIP celebrities and China Wall-of-Fame Designers and Interior Designers.

- Detail specification technical drawings for manufacturing to be submitted to the craftsman and all the parts involved in the design process

Joined at the early stage of the company, the scopes of my work were vast as it was necessary to work in several departments to develop the characteristics necessary for the company growth. Not only in the design department, I was involved production management, quality control, improving processes, in sales, planning and executing design trade shows, logistics, packaging and more, developing professional skills in addition to the design and the creative part.
Key Responsibilities
Design
- Create concepts by sketching ideas and creating fast prototyping of the models
- Detail specification technical drawings for manufacturing to be submitted to the craftsman and all the parts involved in the design process
- Supervise and review junior designer’s work
- Establish timescales for development of new products with product management, engineering and manufacturing departments
- Liaise with marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met
- Maintain brand consistency throughout product and marketing projects
- Assist the design department with the preparation of graphics and 3D renderings of the products

Inserted on University of Aveiro’s Program, the project took place at the R&D department of the company and the aim was to design and develop a Windows Tablet for logistic teams working in rough and difficult environment conditions. The exercise was to put Design in practice but also to consider regulations and laboratory norms to test. The project ended up with a detailed and ready to produce product.
