The Air Force General Hospital is a 150-bed tertiary military hospital of the Philippine Air Force. It aims to provide medical services supports to PAF military personnel, their dependents and authorized civilians and render nationwide aero medical services. I have been rotated to different clinical areas, thereto, including: Out Patient Department, pediatric ward, medical ward, surgical ward and deluxe ward. During my residency, nurse residents and staff nurses ran functional nursing. Nurses usually look after 10 patients in a 30 bed capacity unit. Nurse residents used to administer drugs and take vital signs, while staff nurses were the acting charge nurse.
