Gesture controlled robot using Arduino UNO

• Arduino UNO based on ATmega328P Microcontroller.

• Designed the robot using Accelerometer (ADXL335), Microcontroller Arduino UNO, Encoder HT12E, RF Transmitter, RF Receiver, Decoder (HT12D), Motor driver(L290D), Motors.

• Effectively controlled the robot in all four directions (forward, backward, left and right).

• Implemented this in a wheelchair used for the physically challenged. Performance simulation of wind turbine PSCAD

• A model for the wind energy conversion system (WECS) along with the necessary power electronic interface for the grid connection has been presented and implemented in PSCAD/EMTDC at the constant and variable wind speed conditions.

• Designed the Windfarm by using a 2MW MOD-2 wind turbine model with permanent magnet synchronous generator

(PMSG).

• Analyzed and compared the results for different pitch angles and gear ratios.

• Observed the active, Reactive power and other parameters for the system in a transient time domain. Power Flow Studies

• Designed a 13-bus power system using Power world simulator based on the given network data.

• Proposed and implemented methodologies to maintain the bus voltages as per ANSIC84.1standard.

• Fault currents were calculated for all the fault types (3-phase, single-line-to-ground, line-to-line and double-line-to- ground) using bus impedance matrix method and the calculations were verified using the fault analysis tool in Power World Simulator.

• Proposed and implemented techniques to reduce the loading of network components as per NERC standards. Design of Protection Scheme Using ETAP

• Distribution system protection

o Determined the CT ratios and selected the appropriate time overcurrent curves for a 3-bus distribution system with an intermediate transformer.

o Calculated the phase and ground element relay settings and performed relay coordination along with the transformer damage curve.

o Simulated the system using ETAP and verified the relay settings.

• Transmission line protection

o Calculated zone1, zone 2 and zone 3 settings for all the relays. o Calculated all the mho elements for 3-phase, single-line-to-ground and line-to-line faults for different values of fault resistance.

o Analyzed mho circle expansion and contraction for self-polarization, cross-polarization and memory polarization.

• Performed Arc Flash Analysis and selected the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for an industrial substation in ETAP.

Leadership

• Hand-picked by upper management to mentor teams. Recruiting, training, mentoring, disciplining other Student Workers at UMKC Catering.

• Elected by popular vote to teach at UMKC for ACED. Assisted students in learning non-credit classes in an educational and social environment.

Honors

• Prized with an Outstanding Performance Award at Krk Transformers Pvt. Ltd.

• Received Merit Scholarship from the Central Government of India for 4 years during under graduation.

• Received Dean’s International Scholar Award of $13300 at UMKC
