WORK EXPERIENCE and abilities
Translator tasks
Translates into Dari from English and VS, without revision, complex, technical and sensitive documents covering the full range of the Bank’s work, namely: reports of an economic and financial nature, statements from Senior Management, audit reports, planning and programming documents, project appraisal reports, legal documents, etc.:
Must aim at a high standard of accuracy, faithfulness to the spirit, letter, style and nuances of the original;
Observes established terminology and usage;
Advises on language matters and proposes improvements to the translation process;
Assists less experienced internal and external translators and helps to develop the Department’s terminology base;
Participates in working groups on various issues related to the business of the Bank in general, and that of the Department in particular;
Performs any other duty assigned to him/her by Management.
Organizes day to day schedules and appointments of the Chief of Party (COP) and Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP)
Provide support to senior managers relative to scheduling and preparation of meetings, logistical arrangements, and communications.
Act as principal oral translator for the Chief of Party and other foreign team members and consultants during meetings and for presentations and other communications.
Assist in the preparation of official translations of program documents and other communications materials.
Assist and coordinate with administrative staff on logistical preparations for conference, workshops, meetings and other events of the project.
Manage the filling system for Chief of Party
Assist the Administration Support Officer to coordinate all travel related preparation and arrangements (air-tickets, lodging, transportation, visas etc) of the senior managers and staff (whenever required).
Assist foreign team members with any and all services they and their families may need for setting in and negotiating assistance.
Keep follow-up liaison and update with line agencies as required by DCOP.
Doing the back up for other administrative members when it is required.
Carry out other tasks that may be required by the COP, DCOP and F&O Director from time to time.
