CURRENT POSITION June 2013 – 07 June 2020
I am currently working as Emergency Control Room Operator for Qatar Aluminium Limited
(QATALUM) in this position I report directly to the Head of Emergency Management Responsibilities:
Responsible for supervision of Four (4) Security Control Room Operators G4S Contactors, Oversee control and assist with the following:
Processing of information and the dispatching of emergency services
Notification and Activation of emergency services, key personnel and resources
Communication with emergency responders, stakeholders and mutual aid partners
Assist and support communications between incident commander and other parties
Note and record all relevant information for auditing purposes
Monitor the Fire and Gas Alarm System and act as required during alarm conditions
Monitor and record operational status of emergency responders and support personnel
Handle and relay non-related emergency calls as appropriate
Ensure complete and updated incident reports and voice transcripts if required
Submit daily occurrence summary report
Submit weekly and monthly operational reports
Review the occurrence logbook daily
Ensure correct shift-handover
Conduct regular equipment checks on computers, fire and gas workstation, copier, UPS back-up, radio’s, telephones and voice recorders.
Ensure that the facilities are maintained in a clean and orderly manner
Conduct telephone and radio checks with associated synchronizing of time
Produce and submit and update procedures
Communicate and support the Crisis Control Center, ICECC during Large emergencies or disasters
Liaise with Power Plant, Port and Utilities, Technical, Casthouse, Reduction and Carbon departments regarding control room procedures, fire equipment maintenance, inspections and support
Liaise with suppliers, technicians and visitors as required
Provide regular training to control room operators
Assist management with assessments during exercises
Make recommendations to improve operational efficiency
Makes preliminary evaluation of incident based on alarm information received (e.g., alarm type, structure type, etc.)
Stands watch to receive incoming alarms and information, answers phones, and monitors access to the station house
Receives notification of alarms, multiple alarms, EMS alarms, and other significant emergencies through the dispatch office.
Communicates with other fire personnel at emergency scene about conditions, size-up, etc.
Coordinate the Inspection of Fire Hose Reel, Extinguishers, Clean Agent, Sprinkler System, Fire Hydrant, Deluge System and FM. 200.
CCTV Operating, Controlling and Access Control System
Proceeds to assigned apparatus upon receipt of call for service. 4
Communicates at the emergency scene to ensure appropriate coordination of apparatus and personnel.
Ensure current and updated attendance registers
Liaise with management as and when necessary
