When employed at NWTC as an academic coach there was a student with aspergers struggling in a math class. All the other tutors gave up on trying to help him and after two weeks of working with this student for about 2-3 hours a day I finally figured out that he didn't understand the concept of a 0. His comprehension of the content he was learning increased and his grades rose from F’s to C's by the end of the semester.
