MBA with 20 years of experience at MFG Research as Engineering Manager of three Groups: Process Development Engineering, Plant Maintenance, and the Advanced Manufacturing Cell (AMC). The latter, AMC, is an in-house full-scale production operation. Responsible for day-to-day management to achieve Process Development and Production goals. Also responsible for their Business Planning, Budgets, Expenditures, Personnel, Equipment, P&L, scheduling, and disposition of resources. Reviewed and approved all purchasing. Previous experience at Amfuel as Manager for Coated Fabric Engineering. General Project/Program Management experience in taking programs from start to finish, including quotes, budgets and financials. Supervision of salaried and shop personnel in the development of tooling, prototypes, test articles, new products and production units. Some Product Engineering experience in support of Sales/Marketing groups. TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

Degreed Chemical Engineer with over thirty (30) years of Process Engineering experience in the development and specification of materials and processes, and support to Manufacturing. Self-starter with initiative, technical creativity, innovative ideas, solid analytical and problem solving skills with leadership and organizational abilities. Familiar with RTM, compression and open molding, SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing methods. Technical expertise in materials and processes related to sealants, rubber, plastics, adhesives, resins, honeycomb core, and fiber/paper reinforcements – both as composites and as coated fabrics. Experienced with treaters/coaters, presses, autoclaves, fiber choppers, and robotics used for composites. ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Production of multi-thickness press molded part, no press patching, with scrap below 3%. Virtually eliminated wash.

Conceptually designed new robotic preform machine now in production in Mexico. Improved productivity on 2nd machice install using interlocked dampers

Developed processes for Acoustic Flame Retardant Wall Panels using Parabeam cloth; infusion of Bridge Beams (prototype made), and Truck Floorboards.

Lead effort to convert preform binder from liquid to string with production start-ups. Developed sources and process to run string binder separate with different glass products.

Operated AMC as a 3 shift preform production, 1 shift press production, exceeding Business and Technical plan goals for approximately 2 years while doing a $600,000 update to a Production Plant preform machine. This involved start up of 17 different parts and subsequent transfer of them to the Production Plant.

Improved Aperture part production and financials by process variation reduction to drive scrap under 2% from double digit highs in Plants while meeting all part requirements (not done anywhere else) and improving production efficiency.

Increased capacity of robotic fiberglass preformer by 157%, taking 90/shift average to over 200 with maximum theoretical at 288. Involved development of next generation preform chopper. Also increased press efficiency 80%.

Conceived, specified, costed, and installed a million dollar robotic system to automate resin placement, surface veil application, and press loading. Multiple systems currently running in production. Page 1 of 2

RICHARD SESCO

Completed research program for General Motors fiberglass/polyurethane pick-up bed, including production runoff.

Applied DOE methods to solve Anti-Glare Coating (AGC) fractures on glass computer screens.

Set in place documentation for honeycomb composite panel manufacture, including 444 Bills of Materials, 64 Process Specifications, 99 Manufacturing Instructions, and 54 Drawings. Created PC-based MRP/inventory system for multi-level gantries, allowing for on-time delivery and elimination of premium costs.

Started up new CEM-1 electromaterial in production including use of 100” wide treated core sheets, improving standard press efficiency by 17% and creating option for additional boards per press opening. Virtually eliminated copper wrinkles off press, and reduced PC75 laminate twist from a range of –0.1650/-0.1170 to –0.0200/-0.0600 as the first in-house 6 Sigma process to reach 6 Sigma criteria goals.

Devised a material property demonstration to overcome an unrepresentative test, resulting in a $75,000 development contract.

Analyzed processing of coated fabrics and added equipment to face coater used to heat-relax materials, cutting the shrinkage of light weight coated fabrics in half.

Failure analysis of Trident missile fuel cell determining that Customer’s test fixture was designed inadequately.

Initiated a development effort to use polythioether material in fuel cell applications, which secured a military contract to produce development cells and was proposed for the next generation fuel cell programs.

Proposed, managed, and successfully qualified the UH-60 Drop Test unit after being chosen to analyze previous failures.

Developed composite processing and fabrication procedures for the Transcowl tooling, and directed the team that produced bonding fixtures on schedule.

Researched high volume composite processing options for the TMAP vehicle program resulting in body structure and wheel rims being produced using Resin Transfer Molding (RTM).

Sealing of B-1B aircraft Forward Intermediate Fuselage (FIF), the Wing Carry Thru (WCT), and Engine Nacelles with focus on Fuel Tank sealing. Developed “light weight” fuel leak test for FIF. EXPERIENCE
