Senior Engineer – Cisco Systems, Inc San Jose, CA Dec. 2018 - Present

• Drive characterization of internal silicon photonics 100G transceiver product performances and yield improvements.

• Developed Machine Learning regressor models for key parameters prediction at module level based on chip level optical and electrical data, lens and laser assembly data as well as classifier models for binning prediction at module level for process and yield improvement.

• Worked with test engineers to debug testing software and hardware at die level and tunning level as well as conduct tester gage repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) correlation study. Develop corner testing plan at module level to improve testing efficiency.

• Took full ownership of three laser materials processes (silicon and metal ablation using ns IR fiber laser and via drilling using ns CO2 laser) including process development, optimization for robustness and manufacturability through improved laser process parameters (power, pulse energy, pulse width, frequency, pitch).

• Increased throughput by 50% through process improvements and collaboration with suppliers. Worked with tool vendor for key machine upgrade, coordinated demos and set specifications for custom laser improvements with multiple laser vendors, and drove automation vendor to shorter cycle time.
