I was a member of the IBEW for over 9 years, 4.5 years as a summer helper and 4.5 years of which I went through their inside wiremen apprenticeship program. As an apprentice, it was my duty to participate in class and perform out on the field. Advanced classes and labs brought experience with transformers, landing panels, advanced conduit bending, controls, solar systems, blue prints, AC/DC theory; as well as many testing and troubleshooting labs. Our education also included safety and competent worker training in conjunction with learning OSHA/N.E.C rules, regulations and guidelines.
