DENTAL:

More than three years of experience assisting in dental procedures such as preparing patients, sterilizing, preparing instruments and materials and handing the right instruments. Taking, developing and processing manual and digital x-rays. Maintaining x-ray machinery. Performing coronal polishing, preparing and applying dental dam, application of fluoride. Laboratory skills including taking and pouring the alginate impressions, trimming stone models, making bleaching trays and retainers. Training other dental assistants.

Prepare patients for dental health services and instruct them in appropriate post dental treatment, diet, oral hygiene and other plaque control techniques.

Cross-train in support positions i.e., prosthodontics, orthodontics, endodontic and oral surgery.

Document patient treatment; take notes that are dictated by the dentist during the exam.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Dentrix and Abeldent Software. Performing various dental office duties such as scheduling appointments, recalls, manual and computerized bookkeeping.

Successfully passed the NDAEB exam
