Design of VME, ATC, microTCA and RTM motherboards, shelves and front panels to industry standards. Work with divisions located in Germany, Mexico and United States to ensure these standards are followed.
Design/implement shelves, blades, racks, and cable routing. Working with both vendors and customers to ensure the final product is what the customer asks for and up to both Motorola and customer quality standards.
Project Management/Product Development
Excel Design/Online Gaming Las Vegas, NV 9/1998 – 4/27/2007
Started Excel Design, which was later acquired by Online Gaming.
In charge of conceptual design through final production of any type consumer product, leading a cross-functional team of 16 employees. This group included game designers, mechanical, electrical, software, hardware, QC, and production managers and employees. This also included working on project cost/scheduling.
Designed enclosures for all products as well as designing of proprietary boards and firmware, with all Mechanical design work done in Solidworks. These enclosures included electronics with set operating temperatures as well as optics, with many of the parts fabricated in-house.
In charge of regulator/compliance standards as well as product documentation, including extensive work with NGCB and GLI.
In charge of prototype and production line.
Use of graphics design software for In-Room Gaming screens and documentation write-ups.
Projects included:
Mobile handheld device design for casino use, including design of tooling.
PEGASUS remote pod system with Bally/VLC
Wireless handheld remote with Bally/Williams/IGT/VLC
eSlot system for Stations Casino
In-Room gaming system tested in Latin America, including design of all enclosures and networking system.

From 9/2006 – 4/2007 I consulted with Cantor Gaming, located in Las Vegas, NV.
Projects included:
In charge of compliance for the wireless mobile gaming system for regulatory approvals throughout the world. Worked with NGCB on approval of the system for a trial at Venetian in Las Vegas
In charge of design/procurement of mobile devices used for the mobile gaming system, including any cost saving measures.
Managed scheduling and make sure all milestones are reached. Work with people to ensure this happens and update any changes. These groups were located in Las Vegas, London, and Australia.
Write documentation for regulatory compliance and assist in writing of Operations/Repair Manuals.

Manager of the mechanical engineering department for Bally games with 12 employees designing different gaming products as well as scheduling requirements.
Made all decisions concerning this department, including cost savings and production requirements.
Trained Mechanical Engineering department in the use of Solidworks and Pro-E.
Designed computer, LCD, and money holding enclosures.
Built prototype parts in the machine shop as well as using RPD companies.
Brought Industrial Design usage to company.
Senior Mechanical Engineer

Designed new gaming machines to enter into the U.S. market from Japan.
Brought 3D parametric CAD design (Solidworks) into the company and did all training of engineers to use this new design method.
Introduced Industrial Design techniques by bringing in outside firms to aid in the overall look of the product before production.
Mechanical Engineering Manager
Mitsubishi Santa Ana, CA 5/1989 – 3/1996
Designed all 50”-80” big screen TV’s as well as the design of shipping containers for all TV’s manufactured.
In charge of all departments in cost cutting measures for present as well as future designs. This included production line redesigning and scheduling of products.

U.S. Divers Santa Ana, CA 9/1986 -5/1989
Involved in the design of Scuba and firefighter equipment including regulators, fins, masks, tanks, and valves. This included working with the DOD on tank designs.
Designed a heads-up display used in Scuba and firefighter equipment.
Tested all equipment used in litigation and did all paperwork used in court.
Designed a program to automatically test regulators in a hyperbaric chamber to all depths for Navy breathing standards.
Worked with all machine shop equipment to build prototype parts for ocean testing.
Worked with internal Industrial Design group on product design.
