Senior Field Grain Buyer 2019-Present

POET Ethanol Products - Chancellor and Mitchell, South Dakota Regional territory management covering two draw areas that encompass 14 counties. Client demographic is producers and ranchers.

Primary duties include educating, informing and the origination of corn used in the production of Ethanol for POET's Chancellor and Mitchell facilities. I successfully accomplished these tasks utilizing small group roundtable meetings, individual and joint on-farm visits. Responsible for territory expansion, education (as it pertains to market analysis and commodity risk management) and developing a personal understanding of individual client needs. Write, design and edit a weekly regional electronic newsletter targeted to Poet merchants at other locations.

Group Origination Manager 2018-2019

Consolidated Grain and Barge – West Memphis, Arkansas Managed grain origination of corn, soybeans and rice for six barge loading facilities in three states along the Mississippi River.

Supervised eight merchandisers located in three different offices. Provided leadership incentives which allowed for territory realignment and a movement away from transactional business plan to one that included “agendized” on-farm visits.

Designed, discussed and implemented solution-based sales to producers using futures, options and derivatives, as well as providing recommendations regarding various cash contracts including HTA’s, forward contracts, spot contracts and basis-only contracts. Developed a program of third party utilization, which successfully expanded our footprint in CGB's Mid-south region.

Dance Agra Marketing – Kansas City, Missouri

Consulted one on one with producers over a three state area that included Northwest Missouri, Northeast Kansas and Southwest Iowa.

As a CAMS representative, I Independently developed a multi-state territory that included parts of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.

Profitably worked in conjunction with Cargill's regional farm marketer which provided a vertically aligned business model which tied our fee-based consulting service to cash grain contracts. Routinely provided educational seminars to various farmer marketing groups. Provided option and derivative training to coworkers. Authored and distributed (internally and externally) a weekly grain market analysis newsletter.
