Corporate Controller
Selected to evolve accounting functions and update operations in order to support corporate foundation and enable rapid growth. Direct Central Services Accounting Department with $280M in annual revenues with responsibility for financial forecasting, budgets, and reporting for all business entities. Lead 20 direct reports in the U.S. and U.K. in General Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Human Resources. Control $300M in Accounts Receivable annually. Expedite budget decisions and perform forecasting for 10 departments. Meet monthly with CEO/CFO to discuss forecasts. Oversee all hotel sales/acquisitions, renovations, and system installations.
Reorganized and refocused Accounting Department—created 4 distinctive sub-departments (Payroll, General Accounting, A/P, and A/R), ensuring qualified staff. Identified need for and gained critical support necessary to hire 10 Supervisors/Coordinators. Amplified productivity, elevating work culture from “active” to “proactive.”
Spearheaded myriad companywide systems installations—implemented DocLink invoice processing system for Accounts Payable, Ceridian payroll system with G/L interface for 900+ employees, and, most recently, Sage X3 ERP to replace AccPac General Ledger System and DocLink Routing System. Initiatives dramatically increased transactional accuracy, reduced duplication, improved field productivity, and boosted efficiency across the board.
Shaped extensive processes: initiated balance sheet reconciliations, implemented a crucial Tenant Statement Invoice System, and launched a new budget/forecast system for Central Services to track $19.3M in expense.

Performed all accounting duties for property mergers and acquisitions—provided exhaustive due diligence and proration for $408M asset sale and $575M entity sales in 2016 and openings for 4 additional properties.
Managed and finalized a full-year Sarbanes-Oxley Type II compliance remediation, testing, and audit in 2015.
