RSSI BASED NODE LOCALIZATION USING TRILATERATION FOR LOS AND NLOS CONDITIONS
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is an ad-hoc network generally used to perform various monitoring tasks deployed randomly in different environments. There are various applications of WSN which require the knowledge of the location of sensor node makes the sensing data more significant. This aspect of information increases the diversity of applications. In most of the Wireless Sensor Networks where nodes are deployed randomly, estimating the location of these nodes is a difficult task. Trilateration is one of the common localization methods. In this method usually Received Signal Strength (RSS) is used to estimate the nodes distances. Although this method is a very simple technique but create significant error in localization estimations. To minimize the error in location estimations, experiments have been done on wireless IRIS motes testbeds. The procedure has been applied in both indoor and outdoor environment using RSS ranging method, considering the nodes in Line of Sight (LOS) and non-line of sight (NLOS)

ANALYSIS OF RSSI- BASED INDOOR AND OUTDOOR LOCALIZATION IN LORA NETWORKS
Positioning capability represents one of the basic features of modern Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Although this objective may be pursued by using Global Navigation Satellite Systems but cheaper and simpler techniques are very much essential for Wireless sensor networks. In this project, a complete simulation of Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurements in different indoor and outdoor environments using LoRa network is considered. Among the different systems for communications in low power Wide Area Networks (WANs), LoRa is gaining attention. LoRa is a patented technology based on Chirp Spread Spectrum (CSS) modulation, which is able to achieve long distances with limited energy consumption. These features allow transmissions in the range of hundreds of meters and prolong the battery life to years. Moreover, simple and power efficient localization algorithms and suitable estimators on the data set is to be verified.
