VELODYNE LIDAR, SAN JOSE, CA JUNE 2016 – OCTOBER 2019 SENIOR NPI / MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEER

Served as a NPI Manufacturing Process engineer with primary focus on new sensor assembly line setup, process instruction development, continuous process improvement involving 8D & PFMEA analysis, coordinating with design engineering team and provide them with DFX analysis inputs, training techs and providing hands on help with troubleshooting assembly and test failures.

• Successfully completed transition of 32 channel Velodyne Lidar sensor (VLP32) assembly line from Morgan hill facility to San Jose facility. This involved setting up complete assembly line at San Jose facility, Training techs on assembly process and helping them with troubleshooting and resolving assembly failures.

• Established 8D analyses team. Lead and collaborated with the team to come up with an effective solution to a specific process failure

• Successfully completed setting up 128 channel Velodyne Lidar sensor {VLS128) assembly line at San Jose Facility and trained the techs on VLS128 assembly process steps and help them successfully assemble and test a fully functioning sensor.

Designed electrical support hardware for Process tool and compiled Roll Coater Sputtering tool build documentation. Generated schematics, employing Lean 5S methods to organize production floor, conduct time study analysis, train techs, source vendors and generate specification sheet.

• Designed Roll Coater electrical cable routing, installation and termination OMS (Operational Methods Sheet) to enable the installation of complex high power cables with minimal supervision.

• Formulated calibration, alignment and test procedures for specific areas of Roll Coater tool and trained area maintenance techs in effective use of these procedures.

• Designed and developed a portable 208V, 3 Phase, 20 Amp power source with variable frequency drive and direct power out puts to test / trouble shoot rotary target drives and perform Target Hi-Pot test. This device helped maintenance techs to dock defect free target doors to the Roll Coater sputtering tool.
