Engineer II. Dover Elevator Systems, Inc., Memphis, Tennessee. Design, manufacturing and application engineer (i.e., product engineer) for IDEC PLC's, AC and DC motors and drive systems in the elevator division of a Fortune 300 company. Responsible for the design and application of electrical SCR, variable frequency and variable voltage motor drives, control systems, motor starters and AC and DC motors for both hydraulic and traction elevator systems. Also, responsible for National Electrical Code, Underwriters Laboratories, Canadian Standards Association and National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Code application and interpretation for electric motors. Main clients included Kellogg, Inc. and du Pont, Inc., located in Memphis, Tennessee. 480-120V power distribution and low voltage (i.e., instrumentation) control system design: Designed wiring diagrams, power plans, elementary diagrams, control panel layouts, lighting plans, power panel, loop diagrams, P&ID diagrams, UPS system and conduit schedules for the clients listed above on various projects. Electrical design emphasized Allen-Bradley, Texas Instruments and Fisher Provox DCS programmable controller installation and control wiring design on the following projects: a water softener, a Statox gas monitoring system, food product process flow modification, 250 H.P. AC variable speed drive system, water treatment facility and a food product conveyor system.
