Project Details:

Project #1: Design, Supply, Commissioning, Testing & Maintenance of ABB RTU560 for Various 33/11kV Indoor/Outdoor PSS’s (45 No’s) of MJEC SAOC, Sohar & DPC SAOC, Salalah, Oman.

Description: The main objectives of the Project are

1.To monitor, control and alarm plant or regional operating systems from a central location.

2.To improve system performance and reliability

3.To reduce operating labor costs

Roles and Responsibilities:

Site survey, required data gathering & Discussion with Clients to understand project requirement and Clarification.

Preparation of SLD, Station Layout, RTU/Marshalling Panel GA, Circuit Diagram, Connection list & Cable list as per I/O lists (DI/DO/AI/Protocol) for 33/11kV Substations.

Supervising RTU/SMP, DC Charger, LVAC Panel, Power supply, Transducer, TPI & MFM installation, Cable laying and termination of wires as per Cable schedules.

Configuration of ABB RTU560 as per approved I/O list and GPRS Modem/GPS Server.

Establishing communication and Trouble shooting of RTU for various inputs (DI/DO/AI), IED/MFM/ARC communication over DNP3/Modbus protocol & Time synchronization.

Establishing RTU & SCADA Control Centre Communication over IEC101/IEC104/DNP3.

Erection, Commissioning and Power-up of RTU Panel, Marshalling Panel, Intelligent Electronics Devices, GPS Server, GPRS Modem and Multi-Function Meters Panel.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Development & Modification of SCADA/HMI (SCADA Architecture, SCADA Block Diagram, Overview SLD, Bay SLD, Bay Faceplate & Alarm/Events)

Creating Substation templates (Layers, Devices, and Objects) & linking objects using IET600, IEC61850 Engineering tool.

Creating database for SCADA tags, Grouping Alarms/Events, Assigning priorities, linking to Control centers, Updating IOA address for Control center Communication over IEC 104/IEC101 using IET600, IEC61850 Engineering tool.

Creating RTU560 Configuration, Configuring Time synchronization, IED Communication using Modbus, DNP3 and Establishing control center communication using IEC 104/IEC 101.

Developing PLC logics (Ladder diagram/Structured texts) using Multi-prog and Integrating PLC logics with RTU560.

Project #3: Design, Upgrade & Commissioning of ICONICS Genesis 64 based SCADA system to enable Remote Shutdown for 245 Daleel Petroleum LLC Wells, Oman.

Tools used: ICONICS Genesis 64 10.95, ICONICS OPC Server Suite 5.5, Sixnet I/O tool kit 3.60, Sixnet Isagraf 5.13

Roles and Responsibilities:

Discussion with clients to understand project requirement and scope of work.

Going for site survey to understand the existing well head control system and gathering required input data for Designing. Estimating Bill of Materials (Software/Hardware).

Supporting team to prepare Scope of work, Work flow and Functional design documents.

Installing required software tools (Isagraf, OPC, I/O toolkit) and Licensing.

Discussion with client Engineers to finalize the I/O list, SCADA HMI displays and collect existing SCADA/RTU back up.

Leading team size of 5 for site commissioning activities and Co-ordinating with Clients.

Configuring/Modifying RTU configuration to communicate with Beam pumps (GE Lufkin) and Electrical Submersible Pumps (Baker Hughes Triol/GCS, Schlumberger Uniconn/Instruct, Borret) controller over Modbus TCP using I/O toolkit.

PLC Programming using Isagraf tool for Data type conversion and for incorporating shutdown logic for Beam Pumps/ESP controllers. Configuring new tags in OPC.

Co-ordinating with ICONICS team to develop SCADA HMI displays (Assent tree, Alarms, Trends, Shutdown Screen & Authentication popups) as per client requirement.

Project #4: Installation and commissioning of IEC 61850 based Substation Automation System for LBSS6 & MRS (220 kV) Substation of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Vizag, India.

Description: The main objectives of the Project are

Roles and Responsibilities:

Understanding customer requirements and Develop SCADA/HMI screens using Siemens WinCC as per their requirements.

Requirement gathering for Substation automation system to better implement the system like Operation interlocks and other custom (Look & Feel) requirements from clients.

Supervision of control cable laying, installation and termination to establish communication network using industrial Ethernet standard within substation to connect IED’s, Numerical Relays, DGA’s (Digital Gas Analyzer) and Multifunction Meters.

Installation, Commissioning and Testing of substation automation systems (Gateways & Software packages) of various OEM like Siemens, Eberley and ABB.

Configuration of protocols like IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC & IEC 60870-101/103/104.

Work in site to track and resolve the site issues & Give demo/training to customers.

Participate in internal testing as well as FAT/SAT with client and handover the system to client.

Coordinating with internal and external parties for timeliness of project.

Attending SCADA site for identifying issues and carry out rectification.
