PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

I am an ambitious, passionate and dedicated public health programs manager, advisor and researcher with more than 16 career years of experience and expertise. During these 16 years of professional career, I have designed, planned, coordinated, led, implemented and managed the programmatic, MKEAL and financial executions and approvals of more than 35 public health projects and programs with diverse multi-sectoral strategic interventions. Mainly included sectoral interventions are HIV/AIDS, maternal, infant and child nutrition (MNCHN), community-based nutrition (CBN), IYCF, CMAM, emergency recovery and rehabilitation response, OVC care and support, WASH, Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (AYSRH), gender-based interventions, morbidity surveillance, health system support and health care financing; which delivered efficient and effective results and outcomes. I have written proposals and grant applications for more than 15 new projects that obtained budget approvals from funding non-governmental organizations and multi-lateral agencies. Many of the programs and projects I managed were funded through USAID, EU/ECHO, CRS, Caritas, OXFAM GB, UNICEF, DFID; through which I succeeded to acquire the skill in grant management complied with policy requirements of different international donors. I have developed policy briefs, standard operation procedures (SOPs), implementation guidelines, training manuals, standardized MKEAL tools, strategic and policy analysis frameworks; which delivered effective, efficient and evidence-based results. I have advised, led, supervised and mentored professionals of different professional expertise, with proven skills in team building and effective communication, who efficiently delivered results as team under stressful demanding conditions. I have also demonstrated validated skill and expertise in strategic advisory and policy analysis that established and maintained partnership, collaboration, networking and linkage with government sector offices, community-based stakeholders and partners. I have demonstrated the ability to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis competently. I have also advanced skill and capacity in operational and implementation researches and statistical analysis, through which I formulated strategic directions and programmatic recommendations that redirected and influenced policy-practices based on tested evidences. I have worked on 3 published manuals, 12 research articles which are on process for publications on peer reviewed journals and 5 unpublished research papers. I concluded my Doctoral dissertation on “Food-based strategies to improve iron status of pregnant women”, through which I developed “Strategic Framework for food-based interventions to improve maternal iron status during pregnancy”. PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Regional Manager, USAID-Community-based HIV Care and Treatment (CHCT) Project, Project HOPE Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. March 2018 - Present.

oManaging, leading, coordinating and supporting 6 non-governmental Local Implementing Partners (LIPs) and their stakeholders sub-granted to implement community-based targeted HIV index case testing (ICT), HIVST, differentiated treatment, care and support service delivery model, retention and viral suppression of PLHIV on ART and establishment of community-based ART groups (CAG) in 12 woredas, which has general objective of supporting the National HIV/AIDS Program to achieve the 95-95-95 targets.

oPolicy analysis, advising for strategic directions and, through which multi-directional inter-agency networking, linkages and partnerships between LIPs, health facilities, HAPCO, Regional Health Bureau, PEPFAR/USAID project implementing partners are strengthened for integrated, evidence based, efficient and comprehensive services including, MNCHN, economic strengthening and GBV interventions.

oProviding TA, mentorship and joint supportive supervision for CHCT teams with 16 professionals and 243 community volunteers and health service providers in 27 prioritized HUB health facilities.

oRepresenting Project HOPE’s in partner’s forum, technical working groups, business development meetings and performance review workshops.

oProvided policy and strategic advice through which standard operation procedures (SOPs), implementation guidelines, Manual on GBV Dialogue Sessions and MKEAL tools were developed.

oDuring FY19 (COP18) implementation period, Managed, led and coordinated LIPs, through which more than 80% and 100% of annual targets for ICTs and HIVST were achieved, more than 5,000 PLHIVs were enrolled for preventive, care and support services and 30 VSLA groups were established.
