The challenge posed with Cost Management is to plan, manage, and control costs so that the Sunrise Oil Sands Program (SOSP) can be completed within the approved budget. Cost Management is the part of Program Controls that focuses on defining, planning, monitoring, tracking, trending, forecasting, controlling, and managing the overall Program-related costs. Cost Management is active and involved from the very early stages of Program identification through Program Close.
My role included:

oDesigned a new process, governance strategy for project structuring into programs which would reduce the number of AFE’s raised by a 45% overall (30% for Drilling and Completions only) with an efficiency gain in time of about 50% within creation, review and approval workflows
oAligned new design and processes to effectively manage Joint Venture cutback process and billing with JIBLink
oProvided a solution for multi-level settlement within project structure. This will reduce the number of AUC Asset created by 80% while providing efficiency with Asset Team processes

Project challenge:
The objective of this project is to assist asset teams in a directorate of the organization to successfully embed the organizational values by:
Measuring the level of awareness of the values within the asset teams
Creating a common understanding of the Transformation required
Developing a joint commitment to making this transformation happen.
Role:
Conducted interviews with the company’s executives and management staff, conducted surveys and coordinated data gathering effort during the project
Developed content materials for presentations and training
Responsible for coordinating logistics, meetings and workshops
Set performance milestones and developed remedial action plans with the client
