Armed Forces Hospital, Khamis Mushayt is a 350 Bed Military Hospital Servicing military Staff their dependents. The 7 Theatre Operating Room Suite includes Cardio-Thoracic, Orthopedic (Elective and Trauma), General Surgery (Including Laparoscopic Cases), Minor Vascular, ENT, Ophthalmology, Neuro Surgery, Dental and Maxillo-facial, Urology, Renal Transplant, Plastic Surgery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Scrub and circulate throughout all Specialties as rostered.

Accountable for patient care using nursing skills with a professional approach.

Demonstrate and checking and competence in all areas of general Nursing.

Receiving and checking of patients to OR from the Ward nurse.

Establish a good working environment in which the patient receives a high stand of care.

Determine nursing priorities and plan for surgery according to the list.

Ensure that supplies/stores and equipment are available.

Maintaining accurate intra-operative and recovery room records, Maintain swab and instrument count calculate fluid loss.

Provide independent nursing care and pain management during Post-Operative phase in the recovery room.

Assist patients and anticipate possible postoperative and post anesthetic complications.

Worked on rotating roster including weekends. On call and cardiac call.

Participate in and attend regular in service education programs.
