Operations Manager - National Returns Center (September 2010 - January 2016)

•Responsible for managing the following departments Packaging, Facilities Maintenance Manager, Kitting Manager, Receiving, Distribution, and Warehouse Manager.

•Full responsibility for the National Returns Center, 1 million square foot packing facility, 900,000 square foot distribution center and 460 square foot finished goods area.

•Managed up to 400 non-exempt and exempt associates in a high volume (800k units per day) manufacturing environment (receiving docks, Inventory Control/Put-away and Distribution Operations)

•Accountable for DL/IDL P&L and stretch goals.

•Install, maintain and support high volume automated and manual packaging lines to include sourcing and acceptance testing. The Memphis facility processes 1.6M DVD’s daily.

•Accountable for $1.5 million parts budget, electronic work order systems and full machine shop.

•Spearheaded operations for a high-volume packaging plant with $35 million capital equipment budget.

•Direct up to 500 multi-cultural employees with recruiting, training and termination responsibilities.

•Created detailed operating procedures for $1 million production equipment.

•Increased Warehouse efficiencies by 20% in the direct put-away and distribution areas.

•Installed seismic retrofits of hanging gas heaters, seismic bracing for fire sprinkler risers, and a seismic gas shut off valve for the main gas supply to the building, which saved the company an estimated $45,000 in insurance

Technical Manager - Memphis, TN (January 2007 - August 2010)

•Accountable for the technical parts and labor budgets for the manufacturing equipment and building facility.

•Responsible for approving all operational purchases that were not under Other Costs of Sales.

•Implemented both in-house and vendor training to improve electronic and mechanical skill sets of the technicians.

•Applied a CMMS system to track parts and maintenance

Key Accomplishments:

Assigned line assignments and accountability for technician, which brought production up from 600K units per day to 1.2MM units per day.

Packaging Operations Manager/Technical Manager - Camarillo, CA (July 2001 - December 2006)

•Took the technical and operational lead in the industry transition from analog VHS media to digital DVD format media.

•Led the on-boarding of automated high speed packaging machines for all of North America and held best practice meetings with international business partners.

•Sent resources to Michigan to train and install their equipment.

•Reduced mechanical downtime from over 20% to less than 8%, while increasing productivity by over 35%.

•Reduced direct labor costs for Tape Loading by $0.007 by engineering and implementing automated VHS delivery conveyance that reduced direct labor head count by 40%.
