Quality Manager

Responsible for overall plant quality for life saving products in primarily the Oil and Gas Industry. Lead the conversion, development, and certification to ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System (QMS), Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and then trained all staff of over 100. Lead quality portion of project to move PCB (Printed Circuit Boards) from China manufacturer to Malaysia. Constant auditing from certification bodies such as: ISO, CSA, Intertek, ATEX, FM, TUV, ABS, InMetro, and Perry Johnson. Initiated global recall of life safety products due to faulty materials going back 10 years. Then collaborated with forgings and machine shops in multiple countries to redesign molds and aluminum housings to ensure compliance. This also resulted in a cost savings of $34 per unit.

Developed the QMS, policies and procedures, based on ISO 2001, TS-16949, and ISO 14001 requirements. Responsible for equipment commissioning, FAI’s, and startup of 4 pilot lines. Performed Root Cause Analysis to correct items to ensure quality standards and line efficiency.

ARDAGH GROUP, Reno, NV 2013 - 2015

Quality Manager

Spearheaded the startup and commissioning of 7 production lines to full 24 / 7 production, with 2 DNI, 3 welded, and 2 stamp presses, with 28 size varieties for a steel food can manufacturer. In charge of disposition of finished product by analyzing and interpreting production and quality data. Collaborated directly with corporate engineering to develop specifications and tolerances, including trials, Supplier Manufacturing Agreement (SMA), and new product roll out. Training and development of quality department and roll out of quality system to plant. Developed control plans, SOP’s, GMP’s, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), WI’s, training, documentation, and data collection and archiving.

Performed risk assessment as part of the HACCP program to develop plans for product, plant, sanitation, housekeeping, and food safety. Developed the quality control plan and audit schedule based on Risk Assessments and FDA requirements.

Trained all staff of over 80 on GMP, PPE, and personal hygiene protocols to have competent personnel practice the correct knowledge and skills necessary to perform the job.

Primary contact and focal point for quality related resolution and concerns with major clients including Dr Pepper, Pepsi, Kroger, HEB, Walmart, and Shiner. Responsible for conducting over 100 audits per year, including third party auditing, corporate, outside warehousing, and customer manufacturing facilities. Increased internal corporate Quality System Audit (based on AIB standards) scores to World Class level (95% or better) for first time in 10 years. Conducted Root Cause Analysis investigations to customer complaints and non-conformances in customer and corporate databases to resolve customer complaints by reducing or eliminating reoccurrences.
