Doctoral degree in nursing practice

Educational and clinical experiences essential to develop, implement, and assess health care activities directed toward safe patient treatment, healthcare, and management of acute/chronic diseases

Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests for illness and disease management

Develop medical treatment plans for patient teaching and counseling

Collection of pertinent data from multiple sources using assessment techniques appropriate to patient’s language, culture, and developmental stage

Ability to incorporate a collaborative effort with health care providers and staff to address patient health care needs

Assessment and diagnosis skills in chronic care, acute care, preventive care and healthcare maintenance – medical and psychiatric

Thorough documentation of appropriate patient data

Adaptation to assigned patient case load including accommodating new patient assessments and follow up care

Ensure patient safety through appropriate prescribing of medications and management of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions

Differentiate between exacerbated and recurrent medical/psychiatric disorders

Prescribe medications based on clinical indicators such as diagnostic procedures, lab results and additional health diagnosis

Analyze relationship between normal physiologic and specific system alterations associated with physical and/or mental health diagnosis

Develop patient/family treatment plans including disease management, education and counseling

Facilitate individual and group therapy

Utilize consultation to establish early detection and treatment of medical/psychiatric illnesses

Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with a variety of health care professionals to ensure comprehensive quality of care

Ability to incorporate a collaborative effort with health care providers and staff to address patient health care needs

Multi-disciplinary approach to health care through continued assessment and evaluation of service efforts, programs, and services

B.SUMMARY of PRACTICE MANAGEMENT QUALIFICATIONS

Develop, implement and evaluate clinical programs identified as necessary for provision of quality care: medical, psychiatric clinic, detox clinic, counseling and community resource program promotion
