Job Responsibilities:

EHS Advisor Responsibilities in Schlumberger (Saudi Aramco) (Offshore)

Toolbox meeting is part of daily routine for offshore Oil & Gas workers. Main reason is to identify hazard and to ensure all safety pre-cautions are in place before and during execution of works. This toolbox meeting is monitored and supervised by Safety Officer.

Monitor offshore contractor to ensure that project safety, health and environment requirements are met.

Participate in offshore contractor planning meetings, risk assessments, toolbox talks, safety meetings, etc.

Maintain good relationships with offshore contractor management and personnel. Where necessary intervene to stop work where appropriate SHE standards are not met.

Liaise with other disciplines to improve effectiveness of the overall team.

Assist management in developing and implementing their HSE plans and advise on operational safety matters related to the works.

Co-ordinate and conduct inspections/audits of facilities and activities to ensure compliance to safe and good work practices in accordance to statutory requirement of the factories and machinery Act and all safety procedures.

Have the ability to communicate in written and spoken English & local language.

Give safety presentation with the objective to enhance the health, Safety & Environment awareness of all workers.

Assist in accident investigation, reporting and monitor their follow up in accordance to safety procedures.

EHS Coordinator Responsibilities in SHARQ Petrochemical (SABIC), SAMREF (Saudi Aramco Mobil Refinery) & SADARA:

Overall responsibility for assisting in the implementation of the HS&E Project Execution Plan for the work site. The incumbent will work closely with the Construction Management Team on implementation of Project to enhance the management of personnel health and safety, (employees, contractors and the public) that is critical to continuous improvement in HS&E performance. There is extensive external liaison with contractors and internally with those accountable for project management.

Liaise with the site HSE contractor personnel on core team resource requirements (people, major equipment, etc.) for follow up and implementation at senior management level.

Verify that all project personnel are fully conversant with the specific HS&E Project Execution Plan for Construction and Commissioning, including related HS&E instructions, environmental and Sustainable Development commitments.

Continuously monitors the work environment, especially for work performed under specific Permit to Work requirements.

Communicates appropriate HS&E related information on an accurate and timely basis to the work force.

Support or leads hazard identification exercises.

Participates in regular HS&E meetings with the Contractors and related interested parties with the view to discussing HS&E concerns and actions common to all.

Assist supervision and management in conducting incident investigations. Incumbent will be a key member of any major incident investigation team.

Encourage overall hazard identification and reporting as well as immediate reporting of all incidents and Near Miss incidents by all site personnel.

Ensure Contractors coordinate appropriate orientation or other training for personnel commencing employment in compliance with the specific HS&E Project Execution.

In conjunction with project Contractors, ensure the display and dissemination of HS&E material suitable for construction toolbox topics or other project meetings.

Maintain positive, consultative relationships with outside stakeholders to ensure expectations are met in the areas of loss control, environmental performance and quality. Provide ongoing leadership, coaching, and key point tipping service to all Major Project personnel in safety and loss control techniques, while being visible, approachable and available to all levels, with the objective of improving our efficiency and minimizing our losses.

In conjunction with project management and Construction Management and/or project contractors, coordinate thorough investigation of all incidents and coordinate audits.

Organizes and issues daily/monthly HS&E reports as required.

EHS Trainer Responsibilities in Dragados Gulf Construction:

Develop a training plan, schedules and modules on various safety topics:

Provide classroom trainings to workers, supervisors and managers, Client (using latest available training aids).

On the job training, Safety talks (toolbox talks),

HSE Trainings Include:

Project safety induction / Orientation Training, PPE, H2S Awareness and escape training, Slip Trip and Fall, 100% tie off and fall protection with PFAS, Scaffold and ladder safety, Heat Stress Prevention, Defensive Driving, Forklift Operating Training, Construction Equipment’s Safe Operation Training, Safe Rigging and Slinging, Crane Safety, Banks man / Signal man / Riggers Training, Electrical Safety, PTW (Permit to work), Hot works training. Fire Watch and Fire Fighting training, Excavation Safety Training, Electrical Safety, Confined space Training, Hole Watcher, Gas detection and gas test, Hand & finger Safety, Manual Handling, Log out Tag out Training, Hazardous chemical Handling, Ergonomics, Powered tools safety, Compressed Gas safety, Job Risk Assessment, Hazard Identification, Risk, Nitrogen Awareness, Environmental Management,

Evaluate effectiveness of trainings conducted.

Advising, guiding and motivating personnel and line management on HSE Training for all personnel and maintaining accurate real time records.

Develop workers friendly lesson plan and develop multimedia presentation of the subject.

Upkeep of training records.

Assist in investigation of accidents / incidents / near miss.

Adding up latest accidents in related training subject with illustrations.

Perform periodic HSE site inspections and compliance audits.

Conduct HSE Weekly coordination meetings and work out on minutes of meeting and recommendations.

Conduct weekly all hands meetings.

Safety Supervisor Responsibilities in JGC, HANWAH & Petrojet Arabia (Pipe Line Projects):

Provide support to the project by maintaining a visible presence to the field performing site visits to the entire project; if possible coordinate with the project manager.

Assist in the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HS & E programs in the field.

Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards, to ensure compliance.

Inform the project management team and supervision of any new or conflictive legislative matters that could impact the project.

Develop a site safety management Plan (SMP) for the project to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors and community.

Regularly audit the SMP for compliance and update to ensure the alignment with project scope and conditions.

Organize and schedule required safety staff and first aid coverage.

Provide direction, support and resource to all site managers, supervisors, foremen and safety advisors,

Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately.

Participate and assist the supervisors, foreman and safety advisors in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions where necessary.

Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.

Ensure injured workers are offered modified duties and documentations has been completed. Monitor and follow up on modified workers in the field.

Ensure safety advisors are verifying field staff training and competencies; consult the project management team and regional safety manager for compliance and action plan.

Review safety obligations of the clients and ensure they are carried out as per the terms of the agreement, and communicated to the project manager, supervisors, foreman and safety advisors.

Ensure new hires are oriented, and all required documentation is completed accurately and recorded.

Ensure safety boards with posting including but not limited to: Health safety Policy, inspection and audit result, project hazard assessment, location of first aid, etc. are maintained and current.

Ensure that the following material is available and on site, HSE Manual, the applicable provincial legislation and regulation, site safety inspection forms, observation forms, tailboards and log books, fall protection plans etc.

Coordinate a regular meeting with project safety team to review issue, trends and upcoming conditions or events.

Safety Officer Responsibilities in Al Shuwayer, TCC & Nour Energy:

Making sure that personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, safety glasses, footwear and safety helmets are being worn in the workplace.

Ensuring compliance with all current legislation, codes of practice and relevant standards. Investigate accidents and dangerous occurrences.

Serving as the first responder to and investigator of safety incidents and mishaps.

Maintaining proper records.

Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly and safely.

Ensuring that dangerous chemicals and equipment are properly stored away.

Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing regulatory and compliance data and trends.

Making regular site inspections.

Walking around the workplace and looking for any hazards.

Posting Safety bulletins in highly visible areas.

Putting appropriate safety controls in place.

Ensuring that there is sufficient light to enable people to work and move about safely.

Responding to employee’s safety concerns.

Listening to employee concerns and responding to them.
