Oversee all forecasting, finished goods inventory planning, procurement, inventory control, and product master file entry and maintenance activities utilizing Intuit’s QuickBooks Pro 2019. These duties include updating the forecast monthly, forecast analysis and maintenance, daily review and execution of suggested purchase action messages, new products sourcing and value analysis, and identifying and managing slow moving/obsolete inventory.

Created a Stock vs. Non-Stock finished goods inventory program.

Created a focus forecasting system (4 models) in MS Excel, based on a rolling 36 months of demand history. The tool calculates a monthly forecast for each of the company’s Stock items. The forecast is updated monthly, and adjustments are maintained daily.

Developed purchasing reports for both Stock and Non-Stock items utilizing MS Excel and Access. The reports are updated daily and serve as working documents in managing the organizations’ procurement and finished goods inventory planning activities.

Stock item availability increased from 77.0% to 93.1%.

Supply Chain Manager

Responsible for managing all supply chain functions for the Chicago plant utilizing Computer Associates’ PRMS MRP II software, run on AS-400. These duties include capacity requirements planning (CRP), master production scheduling (MPS), shop floor scheduling, material planning, DRP, inventory control, and all physical distribution activities.

Developed a CRP report utilizing MS Excel and Access that calculates total run hours and setup hours in weekly buckets for each production line and department, by item; the tool helped with the scheduling effort in level loading, determining manning requirements, and determining OT requirements.

As owner of the long-term capacity planning process, participated on a team with plant management personnel in managing forecast-to-capacity by production line, assigning product primary sourcing, and maintaining product run rates and setup times.

Developed a DRP report utilizing MS Excel and Access that served as a daily working document in planning replenishment orders from four of Bagcraft’s subsidiary plants. The report incorporated all of the traditional DRP exceptions, including create order, increase/decrease quantity, expedite/de-expedite, and cancel.

Reduced finished goods inventory from $6.1MM to $4.3MM.

Materials Manager

Responsible for managing all plant and outside warehouse supply chain functions utilizing Movex MRP II software. These duties include CRP, MPS, shop floor scheduling, material planning, product master file maintenance, product structure and routing maintenance, and all physical distribution activities.

Developed an MPS report utilizing MS Excel and Access that served as a daily working document; the report also calculated load-to-capacity by production line/product family which helped in determining manning by shift.

Responsible for creating and managing an internal KANBAN program in support of plastic regrind usage.

Responsible for supporting the supply chain organization by driving change through the development of high performing systems and manufacturing processes.

Improved on-time delivery performance at Danville from 84% to 92%.

Participated on teams that implemented Kanban programs at three plants, as part of the company’s Lean Manufacturing initiative.

The reports created while scheduling the Burns Harbor litho facility were submitted to IT as a project, to have created systemically for the scheduling effort at all four litho facilities.

Materials Manager (October 2001 to May 2002)

Responsible for managing all supply chain management functions for US Can’s lithography facility at Burns Harbor, Indiana. These duties include material planning of raw steel releases, shop floor scheduling for the press, coater, and coil lines, inventory control, shipping, receiving, item master file maintenance, and BOM and routing maintenance.

Developed scheduling reports for steel coil cutting, coating, and litho processes.

Improved on-time delivery performance from 78–82% to 92–94%.

Reduced inventory from $1.7MM to $1.1MM; inventory turns increased from 18 to 26.
